Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Lech Lecha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before candle lighting, the Rebbe put the shtreimel on the chassanim.
- The chassan Avrohom Moshe, the bochur, son of Pinchas Elimelech Weissman.
- The chassan Mordechai Dovid, the bochur, son of Yechiel Dov Friedman.
- The chassan Avrohom Eibar, the bochur, son of Yechezkel Frankel.
- The chassan Elimelech, the bochur, son of Yaakov Hersh Perl.

At about 6:35 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha.
- Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yudel Wertzberger (of Williamsburg).
The davening concluded at about 8:10. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At about 9:05 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaMesivta together with the talmidim of the yeshiva, and began, as is his holy custom, Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "V'agdelah shemecha" and explained, in the style of a derush, the sugya of "Hekdesh mafkia mi'yad shi'bud."

Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about the holy R' Moshe'le of Shinova zy"a, whose yahrzeit was on Erev Shabbos, 12 Cheshvan.

- Kah Ribon Olam: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon, Rav of Beis Baruch shlit"a.
The new chassanim went over to take fruit. While tasting the fruit, the niggun "Pli'ah Da'as Mimeni" was sung, and the Rebbe related how the holy Divrei Yoel zy"a would hum the tune of the niggun during the 4th set of waving at the end of Hallel.
A Sholom Zochor also took place at the home of R' Yaakov Schwartz.

On Shabbos Day

The Rebbe entered for davening at about 9:40.
- Brachos: R' Shlomo Rubinstein.

The Rebbe then approached the amud for Shacharis.

- Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: R' Berel Polacheck.
- Pesukei Shema Yisroel: R' Yisroel Perl.
- Carrying the Sefer Torah to the bima: R' Naftali Hirtzka Greenfeld.
Aliyos.

At Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Lech lecha me'artzecha... va'avarechecha va'agdela shemecha," and quoted from the holy Yitev Lev zy"a that the reason we are permitted to daven on Rosh Hashana for material needs is that, in order for a Jew to be able to daven and learn with peace of mind and to do tzedakah and chesed, it is necessary that he be healthy and have parnassah in abundance.

He explained that if an upright Jew has no money and is not healthy, it is a chillul Hashem. He concluded with abundant brachos and wished the entire congregation parnassah in abundance.

The Rebbe made the bracha over the cup and recited Sheva Brachos.

After Havdalah, the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch.
The tish ended at about 8:55.

At about 10:15, a ceremony of writing the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Avrohom Yeshaya Weiss, which will be completed this coming Thursday, Parshas Chayei Sarah, in Beis Medrash Beis Mordechai. The Rebbe wrote several letters, drank a lechayim, and shared of his holy bracha.

A signing of contracts also took place, in which R' Meir Wertheimer purchased the merit of a prayer room in the building of the Beis Medrash HaGadol in Shikun Kiryas Yoel in Bnei Brak, may it be rebuilt. A fine conversation ensued about the importance of Torah in Eretz Yisroel. The Rebbe signed the contracts together with the donor and warmly wished R' Meir and his family, as well as the members of the board of baalei batim of Mosdos Yitev Lev, well.

Afterwards, HaGaon R' Shlomo Yaakov Zeida Eichenstein shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Galanta and son of the Galanta Rebbe shlit"a, who was staying in Kiryas Yoel for Shabbos, entered for a private audience. A lengthy conversation took place about stories of the Sanz and Zidichov dynasties, and the Rebbe shared of his holy bracha with him.
