Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Pinchas, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire

This Shabbos, a group of outstanding talmidim of the Mesivta Sniff Divrei Yoel chose to spend Shabbos "b'tzeil HaKodesh."

On Erev Shabbos, after the mikvah, the Rebbe merited [a person] with the bread for the Eruv Chatzeiros that is made at the beis medrash.

On Friday night at around 9:05, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav HaChosid R' Mordechai Wieder (Kiryas Tosh). They finished at around 10:40. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos and to greet the Rebbe with shalom, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 11:00 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash to the holy table together with the talmidim of the yeshiva and several guests, may they live, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.

At the seudas Atika Kadisha, the Rebbe came over to the beis medrash for the zemiros and divrei Torah at around 3:20. They sang niggunim of galus and geulah, and the Rebbe tasted from the challah and kugel and wished "lechaim."

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Pinchas the son of Elazar the son of Aharon the Kohen," and explained that Pinchas was so refined that his limbs could only perform mitzvos, and from the fact that he was able to take the spear in his hand, he knew that it was a mitzvah to kill Zimri, and he received this strength from Aharon HaKohen.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Pinchas the son of Elazar the son of Aharon the Kohen turned back My wrath from the children of Yisroel," and repeated from the holy Tiferes Shlomo that every mitzvah a person does passes through the Beis Hamikdash, and likewise, chas v'shalom, every aveirah also passes through and causes damage in the Beis Hamikdash. Only in this way were the nations of the world able to gain power and destroy such a holy place, since it had become impure from the many aveiros that, sadly, were committed. The Rebbe continued and brought out with pain that when they were in Eretz Yisroel this year, they saw with their own eyes that, to our great distress, an impure house of prayer was set up on the Temple Mount, and this too is only because the place has a flaw from our aveiros. This is the reason that every day a bas kol goes out, "Woe to Me, that I have destroyed My house," even though, sadly, we are already 1,958 years after the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash, because every day that one commits, chas v'shalom, an aveirah, the flaw on the Temple Mount grows stronger. The Rebbe aroused the listeners that now, in the Bein Hametzarim period, is the time to do teshuvah and thereby remove the flaw from the Temple Mount, and in this way we will merit that "these days will be transformed into joy and gladness" with the coming of the righteous Redeemer, speedily in our days, amen.
