Sunday, Parshas Korach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Mendel Gershon Feldman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The bochur Yaakov Friedman.
- The bochur Yekusiel Zalman Tzvi Wieder.
- The bochur Avrohom Klein.

After davening, the Rebbe said over the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 31, verse 8. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

At about 3:30 the Rebbe arrived at the halls of Ginas Esther in Williamsburg to grace the Chumash seudah of nearly three hundred talmidim of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg.
The young children welcomed the Rebbe with beautiful rhymes in honor of the occasion and with melodies of Torah study, and the menahalim R' Chaim Reuven Schoenbrun shlit"a and R' Mordechai Aryeh Spitzer shlit"a spoke.
Afterwards the Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a spoke, expressing from the depths of his heart the loftiness of the occasion. Then the children recited the verses of Chumash from Parshas Vayikra, led by the experienced melamed R' Yoel Taub shlit"a.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim, wished the entire assembly well, and delivered divrei Torah in honor of the chosson'im of the Chumash, quoting the Chasam Sofer that a beginning is half of everything, and that this is the great joy at the start of learning Chumash, as they will IY"H continue with Chumash Rashi, Gemara with Tosafos, etc., and concluded with his holy blessing.
Afterwards all the children passed by, and the Rebbe distributed a Tehillim to every child; then all the melamdim passed by and the Rebbe wished them his holy blessing. It ended at about 4:30.

From there the Rebbe went to the 'Bnui L'Talpiyos' dedication ceremony of the new Beis Rachel building, the 'Avrohom Yuda Mandel Building,' of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg, held together with the major donors of the building, in the new wedding hall of the new Beis Rachel building.
Upon arrival the Rebbe went up to the upper floors of the building and looked around at the classrooms.
Then the Rebbe went down to the first floor for the dedication ceremony; the chairman R' Nachman Levy continued with his address, and R' Mordechai Elazar Hirsch spoke, thanking the askanim and donors on behalf of the public.
Then the noted philanthropist R' Avrohom Brach of Eretz Yisroel, one of the major donors of the building, called upon the noted philanthropist R' Yechezkel Dovid Berkowitz to deliver the main address. Then the signing of the pledge documents took place, where dozens of donors had the opportunity to sign the documents purchasing larger merits in the Beis Rachel building. The Rebbe signed the documents together with each donor individually and imparted his holy blessing; the Rebbe especially wished his holy blessing very warmly to the donor for whom the building is named, the noted philanthropist R' Avrohom Yuda Mandel.

The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the entire assembly well, and delivered divrei Torah, expressing that through educating upright Jewish daughters one merits the Divine Presence resting; therefore it is a great joy today when a new building is being dedicated for Beis Rachel, which conducts itself according to the tradition we received from our holy Rebbes zy"a and is founded on Torah, fear of Heaven, and modesty, and this will surely bring down all good blessings for the donors. He wished abundant blessings to all the donors. The Rebbe continued, saying that since he is now speaking to baalei batim, this is the place to speak about the idea of 'Torasa Umnaso,' which brings a talmid chacham into a business to learn every day for a few minutes with each worker. He strongly encouraged the idea and said that it brings a spirit of Torah into the work, and not only does it not cause people to work less, but on the contrary, it causes the workers to work better during the remaining hours. He concluded with his holy blessing.
It ended at about 6:20; on the way out the Rebbe warmly wished well to the mosdos administration and to all the askanim.

At about 7:30 the Rebbe arrived at the Atrium hall in Monsey to preside over the siyum celebration on Maseches Shabbos and the start of Maseches Eruvin, under the framework of the Toraschu Shaashuai chaburah of the members of our holy kehilla in Monsey.

The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the entire assembly well, and delivered divrei Torah, expressing the joy that four hundred members of our holy kehilla, residents of Monsey, are completing Maseches Shabbos. It is clear that it has changed those who learned it and reviewed it; one becomes a piece of Torah. The Rebbe strengthened the participants of the siyum to be able to continue with Maseches Eruvin and afterwards until the end of Shas, and concluded with abundant blessings.

On the way out the Rebbe gave a gift, a leather-bound Gemara Maseches Eruvin, to the noted philanthropist R' Chaim Lebowitz of Williamsburg, one of the major patrons of the chaburah in Monsey. The administration of the 'Monsey Eruv' also came to receive a blessing in connection with the upcoming campaign among our holy kehilla; the Rebbe heard a report on the ongoing activities for the benefit of the eruv and wished his holy blessing.

A pleasant conversation ensued with recollections of the visits of our holy Rebbes, the Divrei Yoel and the Beirach Moshe zy"a, in Montreal and in Kiryas Tash.
Afterwards a signing of pledge documents took place, where R' Mordechai purchased the merit of a classroom in the new Talmud Torah building of our holy mosdos in Montreal. Several other chassidim also took upon themselves large sums for our holy mosdos, and altogether nearly half a million dollars came in. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor, drank a lechayim with the mosdos administration, and imparted his holy blessing.

Then the Rebbe delivered divrei Torah on the verse "Ki chol ha'eidah kulam kedoshim" and expressed that if one is careful to speak only truth, an angel is created that helps him overcome the yetzer hara, which tries to portray aveiros as mitzvos. Likewise, Torah study illuminates the eyes and lights them up to be able to see what is a mitzvah and what is an aveirah. The Rebbe praised the chassidim, residents of Kiryas Tash, noting that many chassidim have now merited to complete Maseches Shabbos under the framework of the Toraschu Shaashuai chaburah of our holy kehilla. He elaborated in praise of Kiryas Tash, "Ki chol ha'eidah kulam kedoshim," a distinguished and upright town founded by the Tash Rebbe zt"l, who established Torah there with mesirus nefesh, and which is now led under the banner and guidance of the Tash Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe said that only someone who comes from Kiryas Joel can understand the virtues and importance of living in a purely Jewish and chassidic city, and concluded with his holy blessing.

From there, at about 4:30, the Rebbe went to visit the Tash Rebbe shlit"a. He elaborated in praise of our holy kehilla in Montreal in general, and especially the kollel in Montreal, where nearly a hundred young married men sit, toil, and grow in Torah. He continued with guidance for the kollel men, especially regarding rising early to learn before davening, learning continuously without interruption, with depth and understanding, understanding what one learns, reviewing the material and being tested, learning Torah in purity, going to the mikvah every day, etc. Likewise, the conduct of a kollel young man must be recognizable, not only when he sits in the beis medrash and in kollel, but his entire conduct from morning till evening, "when you sit in your home and when you walk on the way"; in davening, one must daven with measured calm so that it is recognizable that this is a ben Torah davening. In particular, the Rebbe urged them to stand guard over modesty in the home, in accordance with the instructions of our holy Rebbe zy"a, and concluded with his holy blessing. It ended at about 6:30.

After a few minutes the Rebbe entered for Mincha in the main sanctuary of the beis medrash.
Before Mincha, HaGaon Rabbi Yochanan Wasner shlit"a, Rav Av Beis Din of Skvira, came to greet the Rebbe, and a pleasant conversation ensued, during which HaGaon Rabbi Yochanan shlit"a presented the Rebbe shlit"a with the new volume of his sefer Chayei HaLevi.

His son-in-law, R' Chaim Elazar Hirschfeld shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our holy kehilla, spoke; several melodies were sung, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the entire assembly well, and delivered divrei Torah on the verse "Ki chol ha'eidah kulam kedoshim," quoting the Yeitiv Lev, who explained that by giving away his money for tzedakah, a person shows that he is ready for mesirus nefesh for the Almighty. The Rebbe elaborated in praise of our holy mosdos in Montreal, noting that in the short time that the Talmud Torah has been open, everyone has seen that it is a distinguished and holy Talmud Torah. He also quoted from the Eitz Chaim that when a Jew gives money to tzedakah, he receives the money back from Hashem, and that money is surely pure, upright money. Then the Rebbe encouraged the public to help the holy mosdos, and concluded with abundant blessings for all the donors.

Likewise it is a great joy for the mosdos, and the event is also a beginning for the Talmud Torah, where we hope b'ezras Hashem to educate thousands of children over the years to Torah and fear of Heaven, and it is a merit for the parents to be among the first of the holy mosdos.
