"The First of Your Sheep's Shearing You Shall Give Him"

Today, Wednesday, the second day of Chol HaMoed, the great, uplifting gathering of "the giving of the first shearing and the other priestly gifts — the foreleg, the cheeks, and the maw" — the fulfillment of a Torah-mandated positive commandment amid a multitude of people, the glory of the King, headed by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a — will take place in the hall of our great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel, where the beis medrash will be set up to accommodate the thousands of the public, old and young, with high tiered benches and with special places for the rabbonim and dayanim of our holy community and for the members of the Ahavas Kedumim groups.

Order of the exalted gathering: "And he shall give to the Kohen the holy portion" — "the giving of the first shearing and the priestly gifts": by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a; "receiving of the first shearing": by the distinguished Kohen HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Binyon HaKohen Strasser shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Nitra, Boro Park; "opening remarks": HaGaon R' Shlomo Shabsai Kestenbaum shlit"a, one of the dayanim of our holy community; "the word of Hashem — this is the halacha": the illustrious Gaon, one of the great poskim of our generation, the Domatz of Kiryas Joel shlit"a; "holy words": the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, on the details of fulfilling the mitzvah, its belovedness, and the greatness of its influence.
