Monday, Parshas Emor — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The bochur Yoel Chaim.
- The bochur Yitzchak Chananel Teitelbaum.
- The bochur Yitzchak Eizik Yaakov Goldstein.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening he recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 30, verse 1. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

At around 5:25, the Rebbe went over to the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch, for the opening-of-the-zman address to the more than 1,300 talmidim of the yeshiva. The Rebbe began with words of drush and aggadah, and then moved on to guidance and mussar for the coming zman: that they should prepare themselves for the yeshiva's seder, that they should be inspired to go to the mikvah every day, to learn sifrei mussar and chassidus on a fixed basis, the beauty of the Shabbosos in yeshiva and the elevated nature of the Seudas Raava D'Raavin. He also reminded them of the yeshiva's takanos: not to drive, not to go to weddings, and not to own a personal cellphone. He concluded with chizuk in matters of hashkafa, and on making use of the years of bachurus, on the merit the bochurim have to learn in the yeshiva of the Rebbes zy"a, and finished with words of blessing. It ended at around 6:15.
After the address, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the Heichal HaYeshiva; it ended at around 6:40.

At around 8:10, the Rebbe went over to the halls of Gina Klein for the siyum of the Ahavas HaTorah matmidim program, made by the eighth-grade talmidim of all the branches of our holy mosdos. The menahel of the matmidim, HaRav R' Yisroel Zev Halpert shlit"a, spoke.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the melamdim and all the children well, and delivered words of Torah, saying that this week we read the parsha of all the Moadim; when one makes a siyum on a masechta it is also a Yom Tov, "Avidna yoma tava lerabanan," and this is what we pray: "May He bring us to other festivals and holidays," that we should complete more masechtos and have more festivals. He concluded with his holy blessing.
The Rebbe left the hall at around 8:25.

Receiving visitors in the Rebbe's room took place from 8:30 until 12:30 at night, in his holy home on Ohel Court.

At around 9:50, the Rebbe went over to his holy home on Zanz Court, where an "Asifas Sarei HaAlafim" was held for the more than one hundred askanim who have taken upon themselves to raise annual larger sums for the benefit of the Yesod Lev institutions among the members of our community in Kiryas Joel.
Speaking were R' Shlomo Zalman Spitzer, who presented the order of the campaign, and R' Shlomo Zalman Weiss, one of the leading askanim.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished well HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Rubin shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Cieszanów in Kiryas Joel, the askanim and the entire community. He delivered words of Torah about the importance of the Yesod Lev institutions to the Rebbes zy"a and his holy wish that the institution be set on a firm foundation. He said that we are now in the final years before the Yamim Tovim, when one must piece together the shortfalls that remain, and R' Meir Hirsch is working tirelessly to bring this about. The Rebbe explained that in the present parsha we read the parsha of the Moadim, which tells us that we are now standing before the Yamim Tovim and a firm foundation must be established so that the institution can cover its monthly expenses and not need to come with an alarm before the Yamim Tovim. The Rebbe concluded with words of chizuk for the askanim who are preparing for a large campaign to establish fixed, larger donations from the members of our community, and concluded with abundant blessings for the entire public.

Afterwards, all the askanim had the opportunity to go over and personally hand in the pledge forms, and the Rebbe wished each one well individually. At around 10:15, the Rebbe left the gathering and returned to his holy home on Ohel Court.

At around 10:20, the Rebbe went down to the halls in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim.
- HaRav R' Yoel Pasternak shlit"a and HaRav R' Yaakov Shlomo Rubinfeld shlit"a.
- R' Nachum Klagsbrun and R' Yoel Feuerwerker.

During the visiting hours, the Tolna Beit Shemesh Rebbe shlit"a came for a visit to the Rebbe's room. A pleasant conversation took place about HaRav HaKadosh Rabbi Dudel of Tolna z"l, whose yahrzeit fell yesterday, Monday, 10 Iyar. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and gave him his holy blessing.

Also coming into the Rebbe's room was HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Meir Kahn shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Toldos Avraham Yitzchak in Beitar, son of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:30. Before Maariv, the Rebbe lit candles in honor of the holy hilula of the Baal Zera Kodesh of Ropshitz zy"a, and after Maariv he counted Sefirah at the amud.
