Holy words of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, this past Chol HaMoed Sukkos, at the pure tish of Ushpizin of Moshe in the sukkah adjacent to his holy home, which was joined by thousands of anash through a live hook-up — regarding the postponement of the "Reishis HaGez" gathering that was supposed to take place this past Chol HaMoed Sukkos:

"...Jewish children need to have Heavenly mercy; there is no need to say it, everyone knows the situation in the world. There is, unfortunately, a bitter illness going around. We thought, we hoped, we davened that this illness should be removed from Klal Yisroel. For a while there was an improvement, and Jewish children thanked the Holy Creator for the Heavenly kindness. But as we see now, the situation... the tefillah and request 'Avinu Malkeinu, hold back the plague from Your inheritance; Avinu Malkeinu, send a complete recovery to the sick of Your people' is a very holy tefillah and a very important tefillah, a request to the Holy Creator, the Healer of the sick of Yisroel, that He should see that Jewish children should be healthy.

"There is a danger that the government authorities may shut down batei medrash, shut down yeshivas, lock the talmud Torahs and the girls' schools."
We are still now in a situation of "A person should always advance his prayer before the trouble." We can still daven now, and we need to daven about this, that it should not come to the point that the government shuts down batei medrash, yeshivas, talmud Torahs and schools.
Jewish children should be able to daven properly; the outside forces should not be able to hinder the tefillos of Yisroel. We need to daven a lot about this.

The Yom Tov is somewhat dampened, in that we cannot gather in honor of the Ushpizin of Moshe Rabbeinu. It is painful. But we need to thank the Creator that we can be at home, that we are healthy, and that we have a simchas Yom Tov at home.
Unfortunately, we had no choice; we had to cancel this year the Simchas Beis HaShoeivah in honor of the Ushpizin Ilaah, today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

"We had to cancel. A very beautiful gathering had been planned for tomorrow, for the holy mitzvah of 'Reishis HaGez, the foreleg, the cheeks and the stomach,' a rare mitzvah. We wanted to fulfill it amid a multitude of people, 'the glory of the King,' in a public gathering of Jewish children who rejoice in the mitzvos of Hashem. It would have been a simchas Yom Tov for many Jews. But because of the situation, where we see great strictness on the part of the government, we had no choice, 'and it was decided to postpone it to another occasion.' This can be postponed to another occasion.

We hope, however, b'ezras Hashem, that the tefillos of Yisroel on Hoshana Rabbah, Shemini Atzeres and Simchas Torah will pass without disturbance.

May Hashem help that He accept the tefillos of Yisroel wherever they are, that all Jewish children should be healthy, and those who are not healthy should have a complete recovery. May we all merit a good final seal, a year blessed with goodness, a year of redemption and salvation with the coming of the righteous Redeemer, speedily in our days, Amen.
