Sunday, Parshas Vayechi — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Moshe Yechezkel Waltz (Monsey), at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:

- the bochur Chananya Schwartz.
- the bochur Yehosef Mertz.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 28, verse 4. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the morning hours the Rebbe made his weekly visit to the Beis HaShechita HaMehuderes.

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the yeshiva, Vayoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room. At around 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- R' Shlomo Leib Weinberger and R' Shimon Weiss, in the halls of Ginas Klein.
- R' Chaim Kornbluh and HaGaon R' Asher Chaim Weiser shlit"a, a moreh tzedek of our holy kehilla in Boro Park, in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise.

Between the chuppahs the Rebbe went over to the Beis Rochel building, "Binyan Hirsch, G.B. Landau," where the "Misamchim Ratz LaMishna" learning program takes place every night. The Rebbe observed the learning and went around among the tables with nachas and satisfaction, and bestowed his holy blessing upon the marbitzei Torah.

Yechidus hours at the Rebbe's home on Ohel Court were from around 8:00 until 12:20 at night.

At around 10:10 the Rebbe went down to the halls in his home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim for the mechutanim R' Yosef Zev Moskowitz and R' Yokel Hirsch.

During yechidus hours a lechayim celebration took place on the occasion of the engagement of the grandson of the Rav of Tashnad Monsey, HaGaon shlit"a — the chasan, grandson of HaGaon R' Aharon Mordechai Brisk shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Tashnad Monsey, and the kallah, daughter of R' Binyamin Horowitz shlit"a. A longer conversation in divrei Torah and Chassidus ensued; the Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly blessed the chasan, the mechutanim, and the grandfather, HaGaon Av Beis Din of Tashnad Monsey shlit"a.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:45 and then continued receiving the public.
