Motzei Yom Tov Sukkos, Leil Ushpizin of Yaakov, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe entered for the arrangement of the table in honor of the Ushpizin in the Great Sukkah at about 11:30. The Rebbe recited the Seder HaUshpizin as customary, and washed for the seudah. The foods were served as on Yom Tov, the hosts of the Ushpizin set out wine, and after the meat course the hosts of the Ushpizin served kugels, and the Rebbe distributed shirayim to the hosts of the Ushpizin. With the Shir HaMaalos, the Rebbe honored:

- HaGaon R' Zalman Leib Rubin shlit"a - the Dinov Rebbe of Monsey.
- HaGaon R' Simcha Sholom Steinberger shlit"a - Rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim.
- HaGaon R' Mordechai Friedman shlit"a - Rav of Beis Medrash Yirei Hashem in the Baruch Taam neighborhood of Kiryas Joel.

Afterwards the Rebbe delivered a Torah thought, explaining that the mitzvah of sukkah points to the exile, while the four species bring forth joy. This is why the four species are brought into the sukkah, to show that even in exile one must also be in a state of joy, since Hashem is with us in exile. This is like the answer the holy Chozeh of Lublin zy"a gave to the holy Yismach Moshe zy"a, when asked why chassidim are always joyous and do not grieve and worry over the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash. He answered that one should have "mourning in his heart and joy on his face," since the King, the King of Kings, is in our midst.

Birkas Hamazon: R' Yaakov Hersh Friedman shlit"a.
After bentching, the singing and zemiros continued, as the Rebbe stood up and danced in honor of Simchas Beis HaShoeivah. It ended at about 1:10.

HaGaon Rav of Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a led Mussaf. It ended at about 12:40.

At about 5:15, HaGaon Rabbi Menachem Meir Weissmandl shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Nitra, Monsey, came for a Yom Tov visit. A longer halachic conversation of nearly an hour took place about various questions regarding the Yom Tov of Sukkos that had arisen during the Yom Tov, along with other interesting questions. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim, warmly wished him his blessing, and accompanied him out to the street.

In the late afternoon hours at about 6:15, the Rebbe addressed, through a hookup, our chassidim in Bnei Brak at the Simchas Beis HaShoeivah gathering in honor of Yom Tov, and the siyum of Maseches Berachos in the second cycle of the Toraschá Shaashuai program. The Rebbe spoke words of guidance and chizuk in honor of the elevated "second days of Yom Tov," and expressed his pleasure at the good reports he receives from our kehilla and our holy mosdos in Bnei Brak, and especially from our great beis medrash, which has grown both in quantity and in quality. He concluded with abundant blessings and expressed his longing to meet soon with our chassidim in person, face to face, and concluded with many blessings.

Later, at about 11:05, the Rebbe entered for the arrangement of the pure table in the Great Sukkah.

- HaGaon R' Chaim Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Montreal shlit"a.

Afterwards the Rebbe delivered a Torah thought. The Rebbe based it on the verse "And Moshe said, 'With our young and with our old we will go, for it is a festival of Hashem for us,'" and explained that every Jew must indeed be humble, but everyone must also have a little of the trait of pride in the service of Hashem.
The sukkah bestows da'as, so that one can discern when to be humble and when to be proud. The Rebbe continued with a longer discourse of chizuk about the importance of every mitzvah of a Jew, every tefillah, every act of kindness, every action in the service of Hashem, and that, Heaven forbid, a Jew should think, "My service is worth nothing." He concluded with his blessing.

Afterwards the singing of Ana Avda D'Kudsha Brich Hu continued, and the Rebbe stood up and danced with great enthusiasm for a longer time. For bentching, the Rebbe honored his grandson R' Moshe Meisels shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. It ended at about 12:55, and the Rebbe went over to his private room in the great beis medrash.

At about 1:10 the Rebbe entered the great beis medrash, where holy dancing was taking place by chassidim and men of deeds, old and young, in honor of Simchas Beis HaShoeivah.
The Rebbe sat down on the place of honor, watched, and encouraged the dancing for a longer time. At about 1:45 the Rebbe left the beis medrash and went home to his holy home.
