The first days of Chag HaSukkos 5786, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe bound the lulav as is customary. At about 7:20 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and approached the amud.

The davening concluded at about 8:20. The congregation went over to wish a "gut Yom Tov," and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At about 10:50 the Rebbe entered the holy table in the Sukkah HaGedolah.
The Rebbe recited the text of the Ushpizin service and made Kiddush with great fervor.
Lifting of the cup: R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz. The Ushpizin sponsors provided wine, and after the meat course the Ushpizin sponsors brought up kugels, and the Rebbe distributed shirayim to the Ushpizin sponsors.
During the zemiros the Rebbe honored R' Avrohom Wolf Friedman shlit"a.
Afterwards the Rebbe delivered a Torah discourse on the Midrash "You said: 'And rest beneath the tree'; by your life, I will repay your children with the mitzvah of Sukkah," and explained that since Jews have the status of children of the Omnipresent, they were able to benefit from the Clouds of Glory by sitting in the shade of faith, and for this reason we make a remembrance of the Clouds of Glory.

Berachos and Pesukei D'zimra: R' Yaakov Hersh Friedman shlit"a. The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis, Yotzer, and Hallel, and performed the holy service with the Four Species for a lengthy time with holy fire, and after Hallel recited the Hoshanos with great arousal.
- Removing and returning the Torah: the Rebbe's grandson HaRav R' Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi shlit"a - Rav of the Beis Medrash Rav Tov, and HaRav R' Yoel Stein shlit"a - moreh tzedek in our kehilla, dayan and moreh tzedek in the beis din of the Charedi community of London.

At the afternoon tish in his holy residence the Rebbe delivered a Torah discourse on the Midrash "You said: 'And rest beneath the tree,'" and explained the matter of the Tosafos on Shabbos being a Torah-level obligation.
For bentching the Rebbe honored his son, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Beis Baruch shlit"a.

The night of the second day of Chag HaSukkos

At about 7:15 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha; baal tefillah: R' Yaakov Feldman shlit"a. At about 7:55 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Maariv; Maariv: HaGaon R' Yoel Gutman shlit"a - moreh tzedek. The davening concluded at about 8:15. After davening the congregation went over to wish a "gut Yom Tov," and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At about 10:00 the Rebbe accompanied the bier of R' Yaakov Yisroel Freund a"h, a parent from the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Afterwards, at about 10:15, the Rebbe entered the holy table in the Sukkah HaGedolah. The Rebbe recited the text of the Ushpizin service as is customary and made Kiddush with great fervor. Afterwards the Rebbe delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "And may G-d give you of the dew of heaven," and explained that the mitzvah of Sukkah and the Four Species are capable of bringing the trait of truth into a Jew, and the trait of truth is the conduit for all good blessings. After the Torah, they extended the singing and zemiros in honor of Yom Tov for a longer time. Birkas Hamazon: R' Levi Yitzchak Borzesky shlit"a. After bentching they continued with singing and zemiros, and the Rebbe stood up and danced in honor of Simchas Beis HaShoeivah. The tish concluded at about 12:00.

For bentching the Rebbe honored his grandson HaRav R' Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi shlit"a.

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha at about 7:20; baal tefillah: R' Yitzchak Feuerstein. At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, at about 7:40, Maariv was davened; baal tefillah: R' Yaakov Hillel Lichtenstein shlit"a.

After Maariv the Rebbe went over to the Sukkah HaGedolah, where the Rebbe made Havdalah. After Havdalah the Rebbe wished the entire congregation together a good Moed. It concluded at about 8:15.
