Thursday, Parshas Nitzavim – 5th Selichos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At daybreak, at around 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Great Beis Medrash for the recitation of Selichos.

They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Great Beis Medrash for Shacharis. During the Torah reading the Rebbe was called up for shlishi. After davening the shofar was blown and the Rebbe recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary during the month of Elul.

After davening, the prominent askan Rabbi Shimon Sheesha shlit"a, chairman of the Merkaz Ezra V'Eitzah of the Eidah HaChareidis for saving Jewish bochurim from the decree of the draft, connected with the Rebbe shlit"a. R' Shimon, who was standing in the Zionist court, had mentioned three difficult cases of arrested bochurim whom the state is pursuing with great force in order to keep them in prison, and a court session took place regarding their fate. He also related the bitter state of the decree, how over 100 bochurim have been arrested this week alone who did not present themselves to the treif military. The Rebbe went over all the details of the many-branched campaign for a lengthy time, warmly blessed with his holy blessing that they should succeed in the various ways of freeing the Jewish prisoners, and strongly encouraged that they continue with the holy work until the decree, b'ezras Hashem, will be completely nullified.

Afterward the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence, and on the way a lengthy conversation took place about the bitter decree of drafting yeshiva students in Eretz Yisroel.

Reception hours were from 6:30 until 12:00 at night at his holy residence on Ohel Street.

During the reception hours, a meeting took place in the holy residence with the rabbanim of the Va'ad L'Taharaseinu of our holy kehilla together with the staff of "Gader", where the latest developments in the field of technological devices were reviewed. The Rebbe shlit"a gave his holy directive and wished the askanim that they should continue to be able to accomplish for the purity of Klal Yisroel.

At around 10:10 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy residence, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim, HaRav R' Avrohom Shimon Reich and HaRav R' Yaakov Beri"m Friedman, at the tenaim in the hall of his holy residence.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:40, and Maariv at around 12:00.

Friday, Erev Shabbos Kodesh, Nitzavim – 6th Selichos

At daybreak, at around 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Great Beis Medrash for the recitation of Selichos.

They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Great Beis Medrash for Shacharis. Before davening, a bris of a newborn son took place for R' Simcha Bunim Schwartz, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Avrohom Yoshe Berkowitz.
After davening the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary during the month of Elul. Afterward a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in his private room.

Several yeshiva students, members of the committee that transcribes the shmuos of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a, also entered the Rebbe's room and presented his new sefer Amira Neima, containing 22 derashos, before it goes to print, in advance of the wedding of his granddaughter, the kallah, the eldest great-granddaughter (fourth generation) of the Rebbe shlit"a, which will take place b'shaah tovah u'm'tzuyeres in the coming month of Kislev. The Rebbe blessed them and their holy work with his holy blessing.

After Shacharis the Rebbe went over to the home of his relative, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, for the simcha of the chalaka of his grandson, the child Yitzchak, may he live, son of his son Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi shlit"a. The Rebbe cut off a few hairs and put on the child's kapel and tzitzis, and afterward washed for the morning meal. A pleasant conversation took place with the grandfathers, with stories of tzaddikim, and the Rebbe blessed over the cup.

In the afternoon, at around 5:15, a bris of a newborn son took place at the Rebbe's holy residence for Rabbi Yechiel Naftali Bab"d shlit"a (Williamsburg), where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
After the bris the Rebbe extended his holy blessing, and also by telephone to the father, the HaGaon R' Mordechai shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Machon L'Horaah.
