Friday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Imrei Noam in the Divrei Yoel neighborhood together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva Ketana, Ahavas HaTorah branch of Williamsburg, under the leadership of HaRav R' Yechiel Michel Sekula shlit"a.

Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Mordechai Yitzchak Rosenberg.
- the bochur Aharon Elazar Elimelech Klein.

After davening, a lechayim gathering took place in the hall of the beis medrash. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah bochurim, the rebbeim and the talmidim of the yeshiva well. The Rebbe then delivered divrei Torah on the verse "V'hayah eikev tishmeun," bringing out that one of the mitzvos that "a person tramples with his heels" is rising before dawn to learn. He spoke at length about how rising before dawn is a form of mesirus nefesh, and that this is how chassidic Jews conducted themselves in all generations. He continued with words of guidance for the talmidim to make use of the last weeks of the zman, and concluded with a blessing from his holy lips for the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva.
The Rebbe then distributed his sefer Lev Aharon - Bereishis to all the bochurim.
