Report
Friday, Erev Shabbos, Parshas Bamidbar — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the following brissin took place:
- The newborn son of R' Leib Frankel, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
- The newborn son of R' Shlomo, son of the bochur Yoel Moskowitz, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Ketana Branch Rav Tuv, under the direction of HaGaon Rabbi Wolf Landa shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yosef Yaakov Kahn.
- The bochur Yonah Freund.
The Rebbe lit candles and went up to the amud in honor of the yahrzeit of his grandfather, the holy Rebbe R' Aharon Teitelbaum zt"l Hy"d, Av Beis Din of Volove. The main hall of the yeshiva's beis medrash was donated by the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, in memory of his father-in-law, the one whose hilula it is, zt"l.

After davening, a lechayim gathering took place in the beis medrash hall. Several songs were sung, and the menahel shlit"a presented the Rebbe with a kvitel containing the names of the students who distinguished themselves by learning for consecutive hours. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah bochurim, the rebbeim and the students of the yeshiva well. He also delivered words of Torah on the Rashi "If you hear the old, you will hear the new," explaining that we must keep in mind that "you will hear the old" means reviewing what was learned, and "you will hear the new" means learning new material, and that if we do so, we will merit the holy blessings that descend on Yom Tov of Shavuos. He concluded with his holy blessing. Afterward, the Rebbe distributed shirayim to the students who distinguished themselves by learning for consecutive hours.

In the afternoon hours, a telephone conference took place in the Rebbe's holy home with New York State Governor Hochul. The Rebbe warmly thanked her for the tremendous work Governor Hochul invested in pushing forward and approving the significant change to New York's education law, which will hopefully, IY"H, be a lifeline for all chareidi mosdos throughout New York State against those who decree decrees against chinuch in the Education Department.

R' Gedalya Segal opened the conference call with a few words, noting that the Rebbe still remembers how difficult it was for her to come down before the elections and give the promise regarding the difficult chinuch problem, standing up against many powerful politicians, and that she indeed kept her word until the final signing of the law.

The Governor thanked the Rebbe shlit"a for giving the opportunity to help through such close cooperation with the chareidi askanim, who worked hard for chinuch on the holy mission of the Rebbe shlit"a over the past several years, until the budget passed, which saved the situation. She also thanked all those who consistently help with all kinds of matters that are very important to the Jewish community, such as safety, housing needs, combating antisemitism, saving the vouchers for parents of private schools, and so on.

The Rebbe shlit"a then thanked the Governor very warmly on behalf of all Jews throughout New York State for saving the education system of an honorable Jewish identity, and for everything done for the Jewish communities throughout New York State, and especially for Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe added that Jews are blessed with the trait of hakaras hatov, remembering whoever does them a favor and always remaining grateful, and then wished her continued success in all her endeavors.
