Thursday, Parshas Vayikra — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris of a newborn son took place for R' Shlomo Brach, in the home of his grandfather R' Avrohom Leib Brach, l'refuah shleimah, where the Rebbe was the sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Talmud Torah building, Binyan Hirsch, Gimel Landa, together with the students of the 9th grade, Chelek Alef, of the branch of Rabbi Yoel Spitzer shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Shaul Yechezkel Wertzberger.
- The bochur Moshe Hersh Sofer.
- The bochur Yoel, son of Shlomo Herskowitz.
- The bochur Yoel, son of Shmuel Kestenbaum.
- The bochur Yaakov Yuda Weiss.

The Rebbe lit candles and went to the amud in honor of the yahrzeit of the Rebbe's grandmother, the Rebbetzin a"h, and during the Torah reading, Hagbah was done.

After davening, a bris of a newborn son took place for Rabbi Yoel Spitzer shlit"a, principal of the 9th grade, where the Rebbe was the sandek and the mohel.

Afterwards, a lechayim gathering took place in the hall of the beis medrash. Several songs were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and gave good wishes to the baal simcha, the principal Rabbi Yoel shlit"a, to the bar mitzvah bochurim, and to all the bochurim. The Rebbe delivered words of Torah and expressed his enjoyment of the warm davening together with the bochurim. He said that on Pesach, we must fulfill the mitzvah of telling the story of the Exodus from Egypt by imparting it to the children so that they will be able to pass it on further, and that every mitzvah must be fulfilled with such enthusiasm that it will transfer to the children. He concluded with his holy blessing.

In the morning hours, the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the Beis HaShechita HaMehudar. Afterwards, the Rebbe crossed over to the new beis medrash building that was built within the beis hashechita complex, with all its facilities for the use of the shochtim, bodkim, and workers. The Rebbe looked around the entire building and bestowed from his holy blessing.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe consoled by telephone the children of HaGaon R' Moshe Gedaliah Schwab z"l, Rosh Yeshiva of Degel HaTorah. The Rebbe spoke of his many efforts to save chinuch in New York and offered words of comfort.

At around 6:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home. The Rebbe lit candles and went to the amud.

Reception hours with the Rebbe were from 8:30 until 12:10 after midnight, in his holy home on Ohel Ct.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Aryeh Boruch Chaim Herskowitz – R' Meir Yitzchak Weiss.
- Rabbi Yitzchak Yechiel Panet shlit"a – R' Nosson Karpel Margulies.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 9:45 and then continued receiving the public.

In the late night hours, in his holy home on Zanz Ct., the Rebbe arranged the second part of the lists for the Chalukas Kemach D'Pischa, which is being sent to the poor of Eretz Yisroel, members of our holy kehillos throughout Eretz Yisroel, in preparation for the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach.
