As an expression of gratitude and appreciation, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg and environs shlit"a, paid a visit to the Vizhnitz Rebbe shlit"a on a holy mission from his father, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, to thank him for the self-sacrificing step and courageous decision of the Vizhnitz Rebbe shlit"a not to continue with the building of a Vizhnitz neighborhood in Kiryas Joel.

All of Klal Yisroel is abuzz, and everyone is still amazed at the extraordinary, self-sacrificing step taken for the sake of peace and unity by the Vizhnitz Rebbe shlit"a, who withdrew from continuing with the construction of a Vizhnitz neighborhood in Kiryas Joel, following the personal appeal of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, the Mara D'Asra Kadisha, to the Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a, that for the sake of the future of the town of Kiryas Joel, one should distance oneself from it and not continue with the building of a Vizhnitz neighborhood in Kiryas Joel.

As an expression of gratitude for such a critical step, on which the entire future of the holy city of Kiryas Joel depends, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a sent his son, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg and environs shlit"a, to thank him personally on his behalf for the step that will save the future of Kiryas Joel, so that it will remain holy and set apart, in accordance with the wishes of its founder, the holy Rebbe zy"a.

The Rav shlit"a arrived at the home of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a in Williamsburg accompanied by a distinguished delegation of prominent members of our holy kehilla, among them the distinguished rabbanim HaRav R' Meir Zwibel shlit"a and HaRav R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwibel shlit"a, and the kehilla leaders R' Chaim Eliezer Gross, R' Chaim Friedman and R' Shlomo Zalman Stein, among others.

The Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a received the Rav shlit"a and the distinguished delegation with a especially warm countenance. After a longer conversation about the customs of the day of Shushan Purim Meshulash, the Rav shlit"a said to the Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a: "I come on behalf of my father, may he be well, to convey a heartfelt yasher koach." The Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a expressed that it was not an easy decision for him to cancel the plans to come to Kiryas Joel. "It was difficult for me to walk away, both because of the shortage of apartments, as the public needs a place to live, and also because of the shmiras einayim in the city. But the Vizhnitzer Rebbe acted in accordance with 'according to the pain is the reward'; since it is so difficult to walk away, the reward is much greater, and in that merit a better place will be found." He cited that the Admor of Shomrei Emunim, R' Aharon Roth z"l, said that he rose more in Pest than in Satmar, since in Pest the shmiras einayim was harder for him.

To this the Rav shlit"a replied that precisely because it is so difficult, his father has such great gratitude, and he has now come to thank him for stepping back for the honor of the holy founding Rebbe zy"a.

The Rav shlit"a then repeated a fine saying of the Amrei Chaim z"l, who said "his reward is very great according to his deed": a person receives reward for what he does, but when does he receive it? When "every man is by his camp and every man by his banner," when everyone is in his proper place, where he belongs.

After being honored with refreshments and wishing each other lechayim as is customary, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe shlit"a sent regards with the Rav shlit"a to the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, and accompanied the Rav shlit"a and the distinguished delegation out with great warmth, and they parted in peace.

Upon arriving now at the pure table of the Rebbe shlit"a in the large beis medrash in Williamsburg, the Rav shlit"a immediately conveyed the regards of the Vizhnitz Rebbe shlit"a.
