Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vaera, Mevarchim Chodesh Shevat — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the vacation city of Palm Springs

For Shabbos, a group of talmidim of Yeshiva Gedolah Shiur Daled chose to spend Shabbos b'tzeil hakodesh together with the roshei yeshiva, HaGaon Rabbi Aryeh Dov Kornbluh shlit"a and HaGaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Rosenfeld shlit"a.

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, before the visible sunset at around 4:00, the Rebbe ceased from work as is his custom.

On Friday night at around 5:50 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash, wrapped himself in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon Rabbi Aryeh Dov Kornbluh shlit"a. The davening concluded at around 7:15. After davening the congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos and the guests took their leave. Then the Rebbe went out to the tent in the courtyard of the beis medrash, which was set up by Yeshiva Gedolah Shiur Daled, where the seudos were eaten. The Rebbe sat down and the bochurim sang the zemiros, and the Rebbe watched with great nachas. After a while the Rebbe wished a gut Shabbos and walked home to his holy residence, looking over along the way at the eruv that was made especially for Shabbos from the tent to the beis medrash by the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva.

At around 9:45 the door of the Rebbe's holy residence was opened for the zemiros and divrei Torah.
The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaRav R' Dovid Eckstein (Kiryas Joel). Menucha V'simcha: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Chaim Hersh teib, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the rav of the beis medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And also I have heard the groaning of the Children of Israel," and explained in the manner of drush the question of whether, before the giving of the Torah, the law of a Jew or the law of a Noachide applied.

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And also I have heard the groaning of the Children of Israel," and explained that every aveirah causes damage in the upper worlds; if one were to reckon according to that, teshuva, chas v'shalom, would not help. Rather, Hakadosh Baruch Hu, in His abundant mercy and kindness, reckons it according to the damage in this world, and therefore teshuva does help.
