Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Shemos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort city of Palm Springs

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, approximately two minutes before the visible sunset at around 3:55, the Rebbe ceased from melacha as is his custom.

On Friday night at around 5:30, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash, wrapped himself in the tallis, and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Hivnov shlit"a. They finished at around 7:00. The congregation came over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence.

At around 9:30 the door was opened at his holy residence for the zemiros and divrei Torah.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: R' Zushe Neustadt (Kiryas Joel). Menucha V'simcha: Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Feierstein shlit"a (Kiryas Joel).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And the king of Egypt said to them, 'Why do you, Moshe and Aharon, distract the people from their work?'" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the topic of "the Torah speaks in the language of men."

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:30. Brachos and Pesukei D'zimra: R' Avrohom Yehuda Lebowitz (Williamsburg). The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis, and sent his grandson, HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi shlit"a, for the chazaras hashatz.

Before the Torah reading, an appeal for the beis medrash was made by R' Moshe Falkowitz.

The Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Herskowitz shlit"a. Shir HaMaalos: Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Feierstein shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And He said, 'I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt,'" and explained that one must do teshuva and rectify the aveiros through the yetzer hara with which one was created, and especially through the personal yetzer hara that one brought upon himself. By strict law teshuva should not help for this, but it is Hashem's attribute of goodness that teshuva suffices to lessen the damage of this as well.
