The night of the 7th of Chanukah — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 6:00 in his holy home. Before Maariv, the bochur Yaakov, son of R' Chaim Wolf Falkowitz, lit the menorah.

At around 9:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the main beis medrash for the lighting of the Chanukah candles, amid a large crowd, in the glory of a king. The Rebbe poured in the oil and recited the blessings over the lighting.
Afterwards the Rebbe sang the zemiros, and inspiring melodies were sung, while the choir sang the piyutim as is customary.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words of Torah, a discourse with in-depth analysis, on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos regarding "kibsa zakuk lah" (when the flame goes out, one is obligated to it). He then continued in the way of aggada, explaining that by looking at the Chanukah lights one awakens the Name Havaya, which bestows open kindnesses, so that "Show us, Hashem, Your kindness" will be fulfilled, that it should be visible to the eyes. He concluded with abundant blessings for the entire assembly.

After the holy words, the singing of melodies continued. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings. It ended at around 10:35.

Afterwards the Rebbe went over to Mivtzar HaKollelim for the annual spiritual-strengthening gathering of the "Chaburas Leil Shishi." Inspiring melodies were sung, and R' Hershel Kahn shlit"a, one of the heads of the chaburah, spoke.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and offered good wishes to the entire assembly, and delivered holy words of chizuk, saying that from Chanukah we see that one follows quality, and that the chaburah aims to elevate the quality of a person by strengthening himself in the service of Hashem through learning Chassidic seforim, which brings in a true longing for mitzvos. He concluded with his holy blessing. It ended at around 11:00.

Wednesday, Parshas Vayigash, 7th of Chanukah — 2nd day of Rosh Chodesh Teves

In the morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Yeshaya Meir Bleich, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel, and during the Torah reading the Rebbe was called up as the fourth aliyah.

In the afternoon at around 5:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.
