Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayeishev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Friday night at around 5:00, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yitzchak Mittelman shlit"a. They finished at around 6:30. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 8:30 the Rebbe entered to the pure table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
Eshes Chayil: the grandson of the Rebbe, the bochur Yoel, may he be well, son of the chassan, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash, the Beirach Moshe shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: HaGaon R' Avrohom Yaakov Yaakov shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon R' Yaakov Yisroel Yeshurin Kahana shlit"a (Williamsburg). Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon R' Yosef Shmuel Rottenberg shlit"a, moreh tzedek.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah thought on the verse "Vayeishev Yaakov b'eretz megurei aviv" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of "yesh em la'mikra o la'mesorah."

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about the holy Rabbi Meshulam Dees'er (Reb Moshele Dees'er) zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Wednesday, 24 Kislev.

Kah Ribon Olam: Rabbi Hershel Kahana shlit"a (Monsey). The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Az B'Yom HaShevii: Rabbi Shlomo Kahana shlit"a. Afterward they continued dancing to Chasdei Hashem and Becha Votchu, in honor of 21 Kislev. They finished at around 11:10.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:20. Birchos and Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Shmuel Klein shlit"a (Williamsburg). The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Shalom Eli Markovitch. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: R' Moshe Chaim Wertzberger (Montreal).

- Kohen: Rabbi Shlomo Kahana shlit"a - the Rebbe named a baby girl in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov.

- Revii: the chassan Yisroel, the bochur, son of Yitzchak Fogel.

The Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "Vayeishev Yaakov b'eretz megurei aviv" and explained that the main thing is the beginning of the mitzvah, as we see when Reuven wanted to save Yosef, and so too we see it with the Chanukah lights, with the wicks and oils.
