Sunday, Parshas Vayeishev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Moshe Aryeh Friedman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Levi Yitzchak Levi.
- the bochur Moshe Avrohom Weiss.
- the bochur Yosef Refael Hoffer.
- the bochur Yitzchak Herskowitz.
- the bochur Avigdor Bleich.
- the bochur Yechezkel Shraga Moskowitz.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 24, verse 1. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

After Shacharis, at around 12:15, the Rebbe traveled to the graves of our holy Rebbes on the occasion of the upcoming wedding of his grandson, the chasan, son of the son-in-law of HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a. Upon arriving at the cemetery, the Rebbe recited the blessing, entered the ohel, and lit candles at the graves of the holy Rebbes, the Divrei Yoel and the Beirach Moshe zy"a, and at the grave of his mother, the Rebbetzin a"h. The Rebbe then recited the prayer of the Yismach Moshe zy"a, recited the chapters of Sefer Revi'i as is customary, and said Kaddish. He then read kvitlach for an extended time while moving melodies of inspiration were sung. Afterwards, the Rebbe prostrated himself at the graves of our holy Rebbes and of his mother, the Rebbetzin a"h. They concluded at around 1:00.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's students in his private room. At around 5:00, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
- R' Moshe Tambor – R' Yoel Mermelstein, in the Kinor David halls.
- R' Yitzchak Fogel – R' Eliyahu Yitzchak Rosenberg, in the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.

Entry times to the Rebbe shlit"a were from 8:15 until 11:30 at night, at his holy home on Ahel Court.

At around 9:30, a gathering was held at his holy home with all the shamashim and owners of the wine stores of the batei medrash in Kiryas Joel. HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Leib Bernstein shlit"a, chairman of the Kiryas Joel Vaad HaKashrus, spoke and presented the problems and stumbling blocks that continually arise, and the solution that the Vaad HaKashrus will put in place at the directive of the Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe then delivered words of holy guidance and direction, set down regulations about which hechsherim, wines and brandies may be sold in Kiryas Joel, and stressed the responsibility that rests upon the shamashim, concluding with his holy blessing.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the following mechutanim:
- Rabbi Yitzchak Wolf Grunwald shlit"a – Rabbi Shlomo Eliyahu Weiss shlit"a.
- R' Sander Moshe Klein – R' Yoel Braun.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30.
