Monday, Parshas Toldos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Talmud Torah building, Binyan Hirsch G.B. Landau, together with the students of the ninth grade of the branch of HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Spitzer shlit"a, on the occasion of the simcha of the first putting on of tefillin of his grandson, the bochur, the bar mitzvah boy Yekusiel Yuda, son of the son-in-law of the Rebbe, the Gaon Rav of the Beis Medrash Barach Moshe shlit"a.

The Rebbe put tefillin on his grandson, the bar mitzvah boy, and on the bochur Moshe Gedalya Adler.
Afterward the Rebbe wound the straps around the fingers of his grandson.
During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening a lechayim gathering took place in the hall of the beis medrash. The children sang several nigunim and the bar mitzvah boy said the pshetl. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah boy, his father, and all the children well, and then delivered a Torah thought on the verse "And it shall be for you as a sign upon your hand," explaining that the tefillin are a hint to the Avos and Imahos, and that this is the time to reflect "when will my deeds reach the deeds of my forefathers." He urged the bochurim to use their time for Torah study and not to engage in idle talk while wearing tefillin, and concluded with his holy blessing.

In the forenoon, around 1:00, the Rebbe arrived for his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse, together with the Sredahali Rebbe shlit"a, who is staying in Kiryas Joel these days. The Rebbe went through the entire slaughterhouse, in all its departments, for an extended time, and pointed out the many chumros that have been instituted in the slaughterhouse. The Sredahali Rebbe shlit"a highly praised the slaughterhouse, and there were lengthy discussions on matters of shechita. After more than an hour the Rebbe bid a warm farewell and returned to his holy home.

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the Yeshiva hall of the Barach Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva students in his private room. Around 5:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

Around 7:20 the Rebbe went over to the Beis Mordechai beis medrash for the simcha of the hachnasas sefer Torah, which was donated by R' Meir Yosef Teitelbaum shlit"a. The Rebbe took the sefer Torah and led the holy dancing, recited "L'Dovid Mizmor" as is customary, and bestowed his holy blessing.

The hours for receiving visitors in the Rebbe's holy home on Ahel Court were from 7:45 until 11:30 at night.

Around 8:30 the Rebbe went over for a return visit to the shlit"a at the home of his host, the prominent R' Akiva Hersh Klein. A pleasant conversation took place about memories of his father, the Gaon Av Beis Din of Sambathely zt"l, with the Divrei Yoel zy"a. The Sredahali Rebbe shlit"a honored the Rebbe shlit"a with lechayim, and the Rebbe bestowed his blessing upon him.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the mechutanim R' Yuda Yoshe Weinstock and R' Shraga Yitzchak Feder.

During the visiting hours the bochur Alter Yitzchak, son of R' Yaakov Shlomo Fanet shlit"a, Rav of the Shaarei Tefilah beis medrash in the Helf Hollow neighborhood of Kiryas Joel, was tested by the Rebbe shlit"a on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah, volume 1.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 10:50 and then continued to receive the public.
