Wednesday, Parshas Shoftim, 2nd Day of Rosh Chodesh Elul — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, before Shacharis, the following brissen took place:
The son born to HaRav Binyamin Ber Berkowitz shlit"a, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.
The son born to R' Moshe Ber Neustadt, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the heichal of Yeshiva Ketana, Even Tzedek branch, under the direction of HaRav HaGaon R' Chaim Eliezer Davidovitz shlit"a. Upon arriving at the yeshiva, the Rebbe first went into the beis medrash and looked over the learning schedule. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The son of HaRav Shlomo Noach Heilbrunn shlit"a.
The bochur Yaakov Berish Friedman.
The bochur Yitzchak Yechezkel Dovid Kraus.
The bochur Yoel Kleinberger.

The Rebbe went up to Hallel, and during the Torah reading Hagbah was performed. "LeDavid Hashem Ori" was recited after "Barchi Nafshi."
After davening the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited ten chapters of Tehillim, as is customary in the month of Elul.

A few minutes later a lechayim gathering took place in the heichal of the beis medrash. Several nigunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and gave blessings to the bar mitzvah bochurim, to the rebbeim of the yeshiva, and to all the talmidim of the yeshiva. He delivered a dvar Torah and hachana for the Yamim Noraim, b'ezras Hashem, and concluded with his holy blessing.

During the morning hours the Rebbe visited the matzah bakery of Kiryas Joel, where this week they have already begun baking matzos for Pesach 5785, b'ezras Hashem, to meet the great demand for the highly mehudar "Kiryas Joel matzos," with their many chumros and hiddurim. The Rebbe walked around the bakery for an extended time together with the bakery manager, the Rav R' Yoel Shlomo Zaldan, and heard a report on the many chumros that were added this year. He then separated challah, and afterwards left his holy blessing for the workers. He also repeated from the holy Shinover Rav zy"a on the verse "Today you are going out, in the month of springtime" — that "today" refers to Rosh Hashana, when one goes out innocent in judgment in the merit of the mitzvah of matzah, which is eaten in the month of springtime — and he explained that "baking matzos in the month of Elul is a proper preparation for Rosh Hashana."

In the afternoon the Rebbe went up to the heichal of the yeshiva, Veyoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room.

The yechidus hours in the kodesh were from 6:15 until 11:20 at night, at his holy home on Ohel Court.

Around 6:50 the Rebbe davened Mincha at his holy home.

After Mincha the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
HaRav Shraga Gandel shlit"a - the Rav R' Aharon Hersh Taub, at Kinor Dovid hall.
The Rav R' Wolf Baruch Wertzberger - the Rav R' Avrohom Shmuel Friedlander, at Beis Rachel Paradise hall.
The Rav R' Moshe Strulovitz - the Rav R' Wolf, son of R' Boruch, Glick, at Ginas Klein hall.

After the chuppahs the Rebbe paid a condolence call to the Rav R' Mordechai Yitzchak Samet, who is sitting shiva for his mother a"h.

During the yechidus hours, talmidim of Yeshiva Ketana Kedushas Yaakov of Shikun Skvira, who are visiting Kiryas Joel this week, entered the kodesh. The Rebbe tested their learning in Perek HaMavreh in Maseches Bava Kamma, and afterwards all the bochurim went over to receive his holy blessing.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim of the mechutanim, the Rav R' Hersh Yosef Levi - the Rav R' Wolf Farkash.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 11:20.
