Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 8:15 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and proceeded to Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yoel Acker shlit"a.
The davening concluded at around 9:45. After davening, an appeal took place for the holy institution 'Keren Hatzalah'. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:20 the Rebbe entered the pure table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the young man Chaim Tzvi n"y, son of Rabbi Meir Yehuda Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the Gaon, Rav of the Even Tzedek beis medrash shlit"a. Lifting of the cup: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Meir Yehuda Ashkenazi shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: R' Yitzchak Mittelman (Williamsburg), Menucha V'Simcha: R' Yosef Kaira (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse in the Haftarah, "Look to Avraham your father and to Sarah who bore you," and explained in the manner of derush that because a mitzvah is greater when done personally than through a messenger, Hakadosh Baruch Hu Himself will comfort and redeem the Jewish children.

On the holy Shabbos day

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:40. Berachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Shlomo Hersh Feldman. The Rebbe recited "V'chros" verse by verse, and then proceeded to Shacharis.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Meir Zev Stern shlit"a. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: R' Yonah Bernath.

Aliyos. Kohen: R' Chaim HaKohen Kohn (Williamsburg). Levi: the chasan Alter Baruch, son of Yoel Levi. Shlishi: the chasan Getzel Hersh, son of Zalman Leib Bernath – with a bombardment of candies. Revi'i: the chasan Aharon, son of Shlomo Hersh Feldman – with a bombardment of candies. Chamishi: the chasan Shmuel Binyamin, son of R' Meir Zev Stern shlit"a – with a bombardment of candies. Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.

After his aliyah, the Rebbe called the name in honor of the birth of a daughter for:
R' Dovid, son of R' Mittelman (Williamsburg).
R' Eliezer Gandel.
R' Yisroel Meir Feldman.

Shevi'i: the chasan Yaakov, son of R' Avigdor Herskowitz. Hosafos: the chasan Yoel, son of Avrohom Hersh Weinberger. The chasan Mordechai, son of Yoel Shmaya. Acharon: the Gaon, Av Beis Din of Czenstochov shlit"a. Maftir: R' Avrohom Yitzchak Lichtenstein; the Rebbe called the name in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov. Hagbah: R' Avrohom Hersh Weinberger. Gelilah: R' Yoel Levi.

The Rebbe proceeded to the Musaf davening in honor of the holy hilula of the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, this week. Opening of Anim Zemiros: R' Moshe Goldberger.

After davening a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yaakov Kapil Simon, where the Rebbe was sandek and mohel. It concluded at around 12:40.

Ra'avah D'Ra'avin

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 8:10. Mincha: R' Berish Gefen. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Shmuel Yitzchak Berkowitz. Kohen: R' Aharon Shmuel Kohn (Williamsburg). Levi: Rabbi Shmuel Meir Levi shlit"a. Shlishi: HaGaon R' Meir Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Kshanov and moreh tzedek in our holy kehilla, Williamsburg. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Betzalel Chaim Bash.

The Rebbe honored people with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Yonah Rottah (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "V'hayah eikev tishmeun" and explained that the holy Avos, Avrohom and Sarah, fulfilled mitzvos with fiery passion, and when one does so, the destructive angels created by aveiros are burned away. This is the avodah now after Tu B'Av, when one prepares for the Days of Judgment by performing mitzvos with enthusiasm.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Dovid Bash (Williamsburg), Kel Mistateir: R' Hershel Fried (Williamsburg). The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup and said Sheva Berachos.

The Rebbe proceeded to the Maariv davening in honor of the holy hilula of 26 Av this week. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a good week. It concluded at around 10:30.
