Report
Monday, Parshas Devarim, Rosh Chodesh Av — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a
Lizhensk

At around 4:45 in the morning the Rebbe went to the mikvah in the Bnei Tzanz building, and afterwards thanked HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Halberstam shlit"a profusely, and wished that he be able to broaden the boundaries of kedusha with his expansive plans for the future.

At 5:40 the Rebbe traveled from Tzanz to Lizhensk.

Arriving in Lizhensk at around 7:40, the Rebbe first went up to the Hachnasas Orchim building "Rebbe R' Elimelech's Court," under the direction of R' Daniel Rokeach shlit"a of Lizhensk, where the Rebbe rested for a few minutes from the fatigue of the journey, and in the meantime heard a report of his beneficial activities.
At 8:00 the Rebbe went up to the holy tziyun of the Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a. Upon arriving at the cemetery, the Rebbe set aside tzedakah and said that it should be l'iluy nishmas the soul who will go announce to the tzaddik that people have come to his kever, just as the Yismach Moshe zy"a instructed his emissaries to do at the tziyun of the Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a.

The Rebbe entered the holy ohel, lit 5 candles and recited the Tefilla Kodem HaTefilla of the Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a at the place of the master, weeping profusely for an extended time. The Rebbe first recited the chapters of the fourth book of Tehillim, from 90 until 107, and recited the yehi ratzon for Shabbos and Yom Tov on account of Rosh Chodesh. Afterwards the Rebbe read kvitlach for an extended time while the crowd sang stirring melodies of inspiration, and then prostrated himself on the holy tziyun for a while. They finished at around 9:10 and the Rebbe went over to the guest quarters of the Hachnasas Orchim of Rabbi Simcha Krakowski, and greeted Rabbi Menashe Lipschitz, the director of the central Hachnasas Orchim of Lizhensk.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe entered for Shacharis in the beis medrash building of the Hachnasas Orchim of Lizhensk. The Rebbe put on tefillin in the heichal of the beis medrash. Baal tefilla: HaGaon Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a. The Rebbe proceeded to Hallel with great fervor.

Pesicha: R' Yeshaya, son of R' Dovid Wertheimer (Kiryas Joel). Baal koreh: the bochur Lipa, son of HaGaon R' Meir Weinberger shlit"a (Antwerp).
Kohen: HaGaon R' Berel Glanz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel. Levi: R' Simcha Yisroel Apfel (Kiryas Joel). Shlishi: R' Yitzchak Isaac Weiss, one of the leaders of our kehilla in Bnei Brak. Revi'i: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah: R' Yoel Epstein (Kiryas Joel). Gelilah: R' Aharon Meir Weiss, one of the heads of the editorial staff of Kol HaHisachdus (Bnei Brak).

Mussaf: HaGaon R' Yechezkel Gelbstein shlit"a (Kiryas Joel).
Due to the late hour, the Rebbe left immediately after Mussaf and took leave of the entire tzibur once more, and the Rebbe shlit"a was escorted out with song and music.

Out on the street, the Toldos Aharon Rebbe shlit"a, who is currently in Lizhensk, was waiting for the Rebbe. The Rebbe greeted him with a blessing of Shalom, and he too blessed the Rebbe in return. The Rebbe said that today is a fitting day for the blessing of "Shalom," as it is Rosh Chodesh Av, the yahrzeit of Aharon HaKohen, who was a lover of peace and pursuer of peace. To this the Rebbe replied with a clever remark: "My name is 'Aharon' and you are a 'Kohen,' so together it is 'Aharon HaKohen'...." They then wished each other success in accomplishing all good for the klal and the prat. The Toldos Aharon Rebbe accompanied the Rebbe to the car and waited until the Rebbe drove off.

At around 11:15 they traveled from the holy city of Lizhensk to Rzeszow, arriving at around 11:55.

After a few minutes the Rebbe boarded the private plane together with a small number of kehilla leaders and mekurovim, on the way to Munich.

The Rebbe landed in Munich at around 2:15 and was driven by car that was waiting at the terminal. After some time, at around 4:30, the plane took off on the way to Boston.
En route, after a short rest, the Rebbe learned Torah for an extended time, and later discussed the trip and praised the askanim who invested so much work, and Baruch Hashem everything went smoothly. He said that one feels that the trip to the tzaddikim was made into an experience and feeling like the holy days, and expressed hope that they accomplished all good.

The plane landed in Boston at around 6:30, and the Rebbe davened Mincha in a side room. Baal tefilla: R' Chaim Avrohom Moskowitz (Kiryas Joel).

After Mincha the Rebbe set out on the way to Bethlehem, New Hampshire, a journey of about two and a half hours.

Upon arrival at around 9:45, the Rebbe immediately went over to the local beis medrash where the Rebbe davened Maariv. Baal tefilla: the bochur Pinchas Nachman, son of R' Yoel Glauber (Monsey).

After Maariv the assembled tzibur came over to greet the Rebbe, and the bochur Pinchas Nachman, son of R' Yoel Glauber, offered an answer to the question the Rebbe had left in yeshiva before leaving, l'menuchas hanefesh. The Rebbe then went home to his holy residence.

May the merit of the fathers protect us, and may Hashem fulfill all the wishes of our hearts for good, in good measure, with salvation and mercy.
