Visit of Chizuk in Antwerp Among the Chassidim

On Thursday at 5:25 a.m. Amsterdam time (11:25 New York time), the Rebbe's plane landed at Amsterdam airport, where the Rebbe was greeted by a small number of the leaders and prominent members of the kehilla, who took shalom. The Rebbe went down to the train station at the airport. Since the plane had landed earlier than planned, the Rebbe sat down on a side bench and learned during the morning watch until the train arrived.

At about 6:25 the Rebbe boarded the Eurostar high-speed train, on which the Rebbe traveled for a short hour to Antwerp.

At about 7:30 the Rebbe's train arrived at Antwerp Central train station, where the Rebbe was greeted with song and music by hundreds of residents of the city and Chassidim, the rabbonim and dayanim of our holy kehilla, and people came over to take shalom.

The Rebbe traveled straight to his lodgings at the home of the Chassid R' Lipa Berkowitz for a refuah shleimah, where the Rebbe learned for a while until the time set for davening.

Before Shacharis the Rebbe went to the private mikvah of HaRav HaChassid R' Chaim Yuda Weiss.
At about 8:50 the Rebbe arrived at the main beis medrash of our holy kehilla in Antwerp. The Rebbe first entered the yeshiva's hall, "Heichal Beirach Moshe," where a learning session was taking place before davening for the bochurim, the talmidim of our holy yeshiva. The Rebbe greeted the menahel, HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Klein shlit"a, and heard a short report about the yeshiva. The Rebbe walked among the bochurim and looked over the learning for an extended time with great nachas, and engaged in lively give-and-take in learning with the bochurim with delight in Torah, in Maseches Pesachim and Maseches Kiddushin.

At about 9:05 the Rebbe entered the main sanctuary of the beis medrash for Shacharis. The Rebbe put on tallis and tefillin in the beis medrash. Before davening the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, son of R' Yaakov Pesach Hirshler shlit"a, a rebbi in the Vizhnitz yeshiva ketana.
Baal tefillah: the bochur Leibish, son of Anshil Kalish.

Pesicha: HaRav HaChassid R' Meir Hirsch of Eretz Yisroel and the mosdos of Kiryas Joel. Baal korei: HaRav HaChassid R' Yaakov Schreiber.
Kohen: R' Shmuel HaKohen Friedman. Levi: HaRav HaChassid R' Yitzchak, son of Chaim Lowy (Antwerp). Shlishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. The Rebbe bentched Gomel and was motzi the guests, and afterwards recited a Mi Sheberach for a baby girl born mazel tov to R' Yuda Eli Rota.
Hagbah: R' Chaim Shlomo Fischer. Gelilah: the bochur Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Deutsch.

About ten minutes after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a appeared in the beis medrash sanctuary for a lechayim gathering and reception, where hundreds of Chassidim and residents of the city, headed by the rabbonim and dayanim of the city, greeted the Rebbe with song and music.
Several niggunim were sung. The Rebbe drank lechayim and delivered words of kodesh, giving lengthy guidance to conduct oneself as the founder of the kehilla, the Rebbe zy"a, demanded in all matters. He then spoke at length in praise of the kehilla, the beis medrash for Torah and tefillah, the learning of Torah in purity, the rabbonim and those who spread Torah, the morei horaah who serve the public with heart and soul, and the kollel for avreichim where the young men toil in the tent of Torah, and he wished great success. But the crown of the kehilla is the yeshiva. The Rebbe spoke in praise of the yeshiva and blessed the rebbeim and parents with all good.
Then the Rebbe, in a voice choked with tears, continued: "I am on the way, Hashem has led me." We came here for a brief stop on the way to the city of the forefathers, Sighet, for Shabbos, the holy yahrzeit of the progenitor of the dynasty, Maran the Yismach Moshe zy"a. On Sunday we will go to the tziyun in Uhel, and then to Zanz to the tziyun of the holy Divrei Chaim zy"a. "Trembling has seized me" as one thinks about where we are traveling. May Hashem help that we be successful. We are traveling on a mission for Jewish children. Jewish children need yeshuos and refuos in many matters. May Hashem help that we be able to daven as is proper and accomplish for Jewish children what they need. "And may the upright intercede on our behalf, the fiery beings," all the tzaddikim, the exalted angels, each one worthy in his own right. May Hashem help that their merit protect us and all Israel, and that we be helped in all good matters. The Zeide, the Yismach Moshe, davened so much for the redemption and so longed for the redemption. May Hashem help that we bring about the complete redemption with the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in our days, amen.

Afterwards the talmidim of the mosdos and prominent members of the Chassidim came over to take shirayim. After the gathering the Rebbe left the beis medrash and went to the home of HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel Fogel, one of the leading askanim of our holy kehilla, for a morning meal.

At about 2:20 a gathering took place at the lodgings for the benefit of the yeshiva ketana, together with the yeshiva's administration and the donors and supporters of the yeshiva. The Rebbe heard a report from the administration, drank lechayim, and warmly blessed the donors and the yeshiva's administration.

At about 3:00 the Rebbe arrived at the main beis medrash, where the Chassidim, residents of the city, had the opportunity to enter the Rebbe's room with a kvitel to be remembered for yeshuah and mercy.

During the yechidus hours, a group of bochurim from our holy yeshiva entered together and were tested on the entire Maseches Pesachim by heart. The Rebbe tested the bochurim for an extended time with visible nachas, and presented the outstanding ones with a blessed silk gartel as a gift.

After the yechidus hours, at about 4:45, the Rebbe went up to the hall of the yeshiva ketana. The Rebbe first davened Mincha together with the talmidim of the yeshiva. Baal tefillah: the bochur Eliezer Stern.
Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place with the bochurim. The Rebbe drank lechayim and gave blessings to the roshei yeshiva and rebbeim of the yeshiva, and then wished lechayim to the talmidim of the yeshiva and to the entire public.
The Rebbe then said, "A person should not take leave of his friend except with a halachic matter," and delivered a short but profound shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim, leaving the bochurim with a question and asking them to clarify the sugya by heart.

The Rebbe left the yeshiva building at 5:15 on the way to the airport in the Dorne area of Antwerp, escorted by Chassidim, bochurim and young children, who accompanied the Rebbe with song and music.

At about 6:05 in the evening in Antwerp, the Rebbe's private plane took off on the way to Baia Mare airport, a flight of about two and a quarter hours.

The plane landed at the Baia Mare airport in Romania at about 9:15 (local time). From there the Rebbe traveled about an hour and fifteen minutes to the city of the forefathers, Sighet, may it be rebuilt.
