Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Pinchas, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire

This week, too, the Rebbe merited to spend Shabbos with the talmidim of the yeshiva, the Kedushas Yoel branch, and some of the talmidim of the V'Yoel Moshe branch.

On Erev Shabbos before the mikvah, the Rebbe paid a condolence call to R' Fishel Farkash, gabbai of the beis medrash, who was sitting shiva for his sister a"h in the women's section of the beis medrash.
After the mikvah, the Rebbe gave out the bread for the eruvei chatzeiros from the eruv at the beis medrash.

Afterwards, the following talmidim of the yeshiva presented answers to the question that the Rebbe had left over in the yeshiva:

On Friday night at around 8:40, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went to the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos. HaGaon R' Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Sanz in Kiryas Joel and director of the Kedushas Yoel branch, led the davening. The davening ended at around 10:10. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos and shake hands, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 10:30 the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the hall of the beis medrash together with the talmidim of the yeshiva and many guests from among the Rebbe's chassidim, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Binyamin Chaim Meisels, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a. Lifting the cup: HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Rashis Chochmah shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought on the verse "And the name of the man of Israel was Zimri son of Salu," and explained it in the manner of derush within the topic of the claim of mode'a (duress).

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related about his grandfather, the founder of the dynasty, the Yismach Moshe zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on Shabbos Kodesh, 28 Tammuz.

The new chasanim went over to take fruit, and R' Moshe Zusha Neustadt gave out bundles in honor of the shalom zachar for a grandson, whose bris will be on the eighth day: Rabbi Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz shlit"a (Monsey). At around 2:40 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash for zemiros and divrei Torah. They sang melodies of galus and geulah. The Rebbe tasted challah and kugel and wished "lechaim."

They continued with several melodies, and before Birkas Hamazon the Rebbe related holy stories about his grandfather, the Yismach Moshe zy"a.

Kohen: R' Shmuel HaKohen Friedman, who davened for the Shabbos. Levi: HaGaon R' Simcha Sholom Steinberger shlit"a. Shlishi: R' Moshe Zusha Neustadt. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. The aliyah was bought by R' Chaim Elazar Schwartz (Kiryas Joel), and the Rebbe thanked him. Gelilah: R' Chaim Elazar Schwartz.

The Rebbe shlit"a said a Torah thought on the verse "Pinchas son of Elazar son of Aharon the Kohen turned back My wrath from the children of Israel," and explained that when one guards his eyes, the holy Torah illuminates the eyes and saves a person from the yetzer hara, whereas if one does not guard his eyes, that remedy is not available.
