Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Chukas — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before candle lighting, the Rebbe put the shtreimel on the chassanim.
The chassan Mordechai Chana, the bochur son of Meir Wertheimer.
The chassan Moshe, the bochur son of Yechezkel Katz.
The chassan Meshulam Issur, the bochur son of Yechezkel Weingarten.

On Friday night at around 9:05, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went up to daven Mincha and Kabbolas Shabbos, led by R' Nasanel Menachem Deutsch shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Vayitzev Moshe, Pata.
The davening concluded at around 10:40. An appeal was held for the Kollel Vayoel Moshe of our holy kehilla in the holy city of Yerushalayim. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 11:10, the Rebbe entered the pure table in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the grandson of the Rebbe, the bochur Yissachar Ber Teitelbaum, may he live, son of the Rav of Beis Medrash Barech Moshe shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: the grandson of the Rebbe, Rabbi Meir Yehuda Ashkenazi shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros: Kol Mekadesh: R' Chaim Yeshaya Weiss (Lakewood); Menucha V'Simcha: R' Aryeh Rotte (Manchester).

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Zos chukas haTorah," and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of a mitzvah that comes through an aveira.

Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a first told a story about the holy R' Hersh of Rimanov zy"a related to the parsha, and then about the holy Ateres Tzvi of Zidichov zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Wednesday, 11 Tammuz.

Kah Ribon Olam: R' Akiva Hirsch (Williamsburg). The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Ki Bayom Hashvi'i: HaGaon R' Yoel Yitzchak Stern shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Beis Medrash Dinov, Kiryas Joel. It concluded at around 1:40.

On Shabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered the beis medrash at around 9:40. Berachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: Rabbi Shlomo Elimelech Stein shlit"a. The Rebbe went up to daven Shacharis.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Anschel Lichtenstein. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: HaGaon R' Yosef Leifer shlit"a of Bardichov-Nadvorna.

Aliyos. Kohen: R' Shmuel Binyamin Landau (Williamsburg). Levi: the chassan Mordechai Efraim Fishel, the bochur son of Yisroel Simcha Landau. Shlishi: the chassan Zalman Leib, the bochur son of Eliyahu Yitzchak Rosenberg - with the throwing of candies. Revi'i: the chassan Hershel, son of Rabbi Shlomo Elimelech Stein shlit"a - with the throwing of candies. Kohen: Rabbi Hershel Kahana shlit"a (Boro Park). Levi: R' Chaim Heller. Shlishi: HaGaon R' Yisroel Shalom Taub shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Baltimore, Williamsburg. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Yechezkel Weingarten.

The Rebbe honored the following with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen. Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "Al ken yomru hamoshlim bo'u cheshbon," and explained that a person has free will, but only with the power of the Torah; when one is engaged in Torah, one can overcome the yetzer hara no matter how strong it may be.

Yedid Nefesh: HaGaon R' Dovid Liberman shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Shenia. Keil Mistater: R' Yitzchak Singer (Williamsburg). The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup and said the Sheva Berachos.

Maariv for Motzei Shabbos: R' Chaim Heller. Havdalah followed, and the congregation went over to wish a good week.
After Havdalah, the Rebbe recited Kiddush Levana in front of the Beis Medrash HaGadol. It concluded at around 11:20.

After Havdalah, a group of talmidim of Yeshivas Shaar HaTalmud of Lakewood, and a group of talmidim of Yeshivas Yesodei HaTorah of Lakewood, who had spent Shabbos b'tzeil hakodesh, entered the Rebbe's holy home. The Rebbe questioned them on their learning, and the bochurim went over to receive a blessing from the Rebbe.
