Sunday, Parshas Shelach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Moshe Yuda Weiss, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yissachar Dov Heimann.
The bochur Aharon Kraus.
The bochur Yitzchak Spitzer.
The bochur Yekusiel Eliyahu Eigner.

After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 22, verse 2. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

At around 12:45 the Rebbe set out for Boro Park to attend the Chumash seudah of the talmidim of our holy mosdos in Boro Park. At around 2:30 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Upon arriving at the beis medrash, the Rebbe greeted his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a, and warmly wished him mazel tov on the wedding of his granddaughter, which took place last night in Boro Park.
The Rebbe entered the main hall of the beis medrash, where hundreds of parents and grandfathers of the children were present, among them many Rebbes and rabbanim, including the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Boro Park shlit"a, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park 15 shlit"a, the Burshtin Rebbe shlit"a, the Alexander Rebbe shlit"a, and many other rabbanim of the city. The children sang verses in honor of the occasion, and R' Yosef Binyamin Stern shlit"a spoke as master of ceremonies. Afterwards the children recited the verses of Chumash from Parshas Vayikra, led by the expert melamed R' Yudel Wertzberger shlit"a. Then the Rebbe distributed a siddur to all the children.
The Rebbe delivered brief words of blessing, drank lechayim, and wished the children and their parents well. It concluded at around 3:10.

From there the Rebbe traveled to the new, enormous property on 18th and 53rd, which was recently purchased by the administration of our holy mosdos to build a new, majestic building for the Beis Rachel high school. There he heard a report from the director of the mosdos, R' Aharon Welz, and from R' Yaakov Landau, administrator, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing.

From there, at around 3:40, the Rebbe went to visit the home of HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Friedman shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of our kehilla in Boro Park, on the occasion of the wedding of his youngest daughter. A beautiful conversation ensued about various customs at brissen and many halachic questions regarding the laws of ma'akeh and the laws of mikvah. The Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly bestowed his holy blessings.

At around 4:40 the Rebbe arrived in Williamsburg for the ceremony of pouring the foundations of the new beis medrash 'Lev Aharon'. He first entered the old beis medrash on South 8th, where a lechayim gathering and signing of documents with the donors of the new beis medrash took place. R' Chaim Aharon Ungar shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of the beis medrash, spoke and praised the mispallelim of the beis medrash, who in a short time raised the astronomical sum of over six million dollars to be able to complete the beis medrash. Then the donors went up to the head table and signed the documents together with the Rebbe shlit"a, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing on each one individually.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the entire gathering well, and delivered holy words saying that when a beis medrash is renewed for Torah and tefillah, it is a joy for everyone. He gave guidance that when a beis medrash is inaugurated, it should be founded on the Satmar foundations, so that the beis medrash should belong to the camp of Hashem and not be dragged after the camp of the coarse. He concluded with abundant blessings for the esteemed donors, and for the esteemed dayan shlit"a, who is engaged in "the matter of Hashem, this is halacha" all day, and added his holy blessings for the askanim of the beis medrash. It ended at around 5:20.
From there the Rebbe went over to the new beis medrash, where the Rebbe examined the beautiful main hall, along with the sections that will be used for the tefillah rooms, which on Shabbosos and Yamim Tovim will be opened into a magnificent hall of nearly 5,000 square feet with hundreds of seats, b'ezras Hashem.
Then the Rebbe went down to the mikvah, where the Rebbe poured the foundations and then honored his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a, the dayan and moreh tzedek of the beis medrash shlit"a, and the donors of the beis medrash to pour. Then the Rebbe went back up to the main hall of the beis medrash, where a lechayim gathering took place in honor of the occasion. Several songs were sung. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the entire gathering well, and in his holy words spoke of the preciousness before the Ribbono Shel Olam when a Jew who is occupied with earning a livelihood tears himself away to the beis medrash to daven and learn. He wished that as a Satmar beis medrash is renewed, there should be Torah, avodah and gemilus chassadim, and concluded with abundant blessings for all the mispallelim of the beis medrash. It ended at around 5:50.

From there the Rebbe traveled to the construction site of the new and magnificent building of the Yeshiva for younger boys of our holy mosdos. The Rebbe looked over the construction work and heard a report from R' Avrohom Brach, chairman of the yeshiva's administration. Then the Rebbe laid the cornerstone and honored his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a, and HaGaon Rabbi Hershel Horowitz shlit"a, director of the yeshiva, and the members of the administration, to lay it as well, and wished abundant blessings to the members of the administration and those engaged in the holy work of building this beautiful building. At around 6:10 the Rebbe set out on the way home to his residence in Kiryas Joel.

In the afternoon at around 7:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his home.

At around 9:10 the Rebbe went over to Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga for the central Sheva Brachos arranged by the mispallelim of the beis medrash in honor of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a and his brother-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash shlit"a. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished mazel tov to the chassan, the mechutanim, and the entire gathering, and delivered holy words of Torah on the subject of the joy of chassan and kallah, spoke in praise of the chassan and of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash shlit"a, and concluded with his holy blessing to the entire gathering.
Then the Rebbe stood up and danced together with the chassan and the entire head table for an extended time. Before nightfall for Rabbeinu Tam's time they bentched, and during bentching the Rebbe honored his brother-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash shlit"a, and the Rebbe recited the Sheva Brachos.
After bentching, R' Yisroel Meir Friedman shlit"a spoke on behalf of the mispallelim of the beis medrash, followed by the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the beis medrash shlit"a. Then R' Eliyahu Schweitzer spoke in a humorous vein. It ended at around 10:25.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim held in his home, for the following mechutanim:
R' Avrohom Yoel Grossberg shlit"a (Monsey) - R' Menachem Zev Silberstein shlit"a.
