Second Day of Shavuos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning at 9:00, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Great Beis Medrash to take part in the exalted gathering of "Naaseh V'Nishma," public Torah learning. First the Rebbe walked around through all the branches of the beis medrash, beginning at the Heichal HaTorah and then in the gigantic main beis medrash, and looked around for an extended time with great satisfaction at the thousands of learners, old and young. How splendid was the sight as the Rebbe, the leader of Israel, walked among the thousands of learners, like "And Moshe descended from the mountain to the people." Afterwards the Rebbe went into his private room, where he learned Torah with a chavrusa, his grandson, the young chosson Yisroel Dushinsky, son of the Gaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a.

Before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Dovid Leibush Weissman, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe entered for davening at around 11:00. Recital of the Birchos HaShachar: HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Schwartz shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Beis Medrash Binyan Gelbstein in Williamsburg. The Rebbe recited "V'karos" verse by verse, and approached the amud for Shacharis, Yotzer and Hallel.
After the Shir Shel Yom, Megillas Rus was read.

Hotzaah and Hachnasah (taking out and returning the Torah): HaGaon R' Yechezkel Glantz shlit"a of Bardiov, Williamsburg, and HaRav HaGaon R' Yaakov Weiss shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our holy kehilla in Monsey.
Verses of Shema Yisroel: HaGaon R' Yoel Halberstam shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Shmuel in the Divrei Chaim neighborhood.

Aliyos. Kohen: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Mendel Meir Glick (Williamsburg).
Levi: R' Yoel Yuda Rubinfeld shlit"a (Williamsburg). Shlishi: the Gaon HaGadol, the Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a. Revii: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Dovid Shmuel Goldberger. Chamishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah of the first sefer Torah: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Yitzchak Schwartz (Williamsburg). Gelilah: R' Baruch Stern shlit"a (Williamsburg). Maftir: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Aharon Wolcz (Boro Park). Hagbah of the second sefer Torah: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Shmuel Zanvil Wertheimer (Monsey).
Gelilah: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Avrohom Meir Wertzberger (Montreal).

After the Torah reading, Yizkor was recited. Because of the great crowding in previous years, a new arrangement was set up with the approval of the Rebbe shlit"a, and special mechitzos were spread out across all the wings and galleries and on the south and north sides of the beis medrash, to avoid dangers to life when so many thousands of Jews leave all at once.

The Gaon, Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a, approached the amud for Musaf. After Aleinu, the Rebbe recited Kaddish in memory of the family of his father, the holy Rebbe, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, Hy"d. Introduction to Anim Zemiros: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Avrohom Shlomo Kahana (Williamsburg). They finished at around 3:00.

After davening, the simcha of a bris milah took place for the newborn son of the Rebbe's grandson, HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Ashkenazi shlit"a, rebbe in Yeshivas Ahavas HaTorah.
Mohel: the father of the baby shlit"a. Sandek: the Rebbe shlit"a. Brachos and naming: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the Gaon, rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a. "And his name shall be called in Israel": Yekusiel Zalman Yom Tov Lipa, named after his grandfather, the Gaon, Av Beis Din of Tshakova zt"l.

A few minutes later the Rebbe came in to the Kiddusha Rabba in honor of the simcha of the bris milah. The Rebbe made Kiddush and joyous melodies were sung.
At the fish course, the baal simcha, HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Ashkenazi shlit"a, rose to speak. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the baal simcha and the entire gathering well, and said a Torah thought on the piyut "U'vau Kulam Bivris Yachad," explaining that through the fact that "Hashem joins a good thought to the deed," every Jew can fulfill the Torah; this comes because we have no "orlas halev" (blockage of the heart), which is removed through the mitzvah of milah. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings. They finished at around 3:30.
At the midday meal with family members and the seudas bris milah in his holy home, the Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Avrohom Meir Halberstam shlit"a with Atah Nigleisa, and HaRav HaGaon R' Nosson Dovid Ashkenazi shlit"a with Yom LeYabasha.
The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "And you shall be to Me a treasure from among all peoples," explaining that in the merit of the mitzvah of milah, Jews become one with Hashem and through this are able to do teshuva.
The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup, and honored HaRav HaGaon R' Hershel Meisels shlit"a and HaRav HaGaon R' Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Rav Tuv, with the Harachaman prayers.

In the afternoon at around 8:50, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for Mincha and Neilas HaChag. Davening at the amud: HaRav HaChoshuv R' Yoel ben R' Hirsh.

After Mincha the Rebbe went up to the platform and danced for a few minutes, and the Yom Tov melodies were drawn out at length.
R' Shlomo Wertzberger, the shamash of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, poured the cup for the Rebbe, and the Rebbe wished lechayim to the Chevra Kadisha and to the entire gathering.
The Rebbe tasted the refreshments and shirayim was distributed, and then the Rebbe made the siyum on Maseches Bechoros as part of the "Toraschah Sha'ashuai" group. The Rebbe made the siyum and recited the Hadran, and honored the Rebbe's son-in-law, the Gaon, rav of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, with Kaddish, and the singing of Simchas Torah melodies continued.

The Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Meir Zvibel shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, with Atah Nigleisa. Then the Rebbe read the kesuba between Israel and their Father in Heaven, and "U'vau Kulam" and "Elyonim Sasu" were sung, and the singing continued with Shavuos Yom Tov melodies and melodies of the sweetness of Torah.

The Rebbe recited "Baruch HaMavdil" and delivered words of holiness over a microphone. The Rebbe built on the verse "And Moshe ascended to Elokim," explaining that Moshe Rabbeinu lit in Jewish hearts a holy spark that burns to this very day, so that the Torah remains in every family of Klal Yisroel until the end of all generations. He spoke with great emotion about the public Torah learning program, "the upper realms rejoiced and the lower realms exulted," that Jews showed that in honor of Yom Tov Shavuos they dedicate themselves to Torah study, and from Heaven great abundance will be showered, and he mentioned the siyum of Maseches Bechoros in the Toraschah Sha'ashuai group, which b'ezras Hashem within a year will complete the entire Shas. Jews who see this and are envious should do likewise.
He also explained in another way that when there is an abundance of livelihood there is the test of wealth, but when the blessing comes from Hashem Himself, above the system of the constellations, it does no harm, and Torah and greatness can be in one place. He concluded with abundant blessings.

The singing continued and the Rebbe stood up to dance a festive dance. At the end, the Rebbe recited three times "Next year in Yerushalayim."

The HaGaon, Rav of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, the Rebbe's son-in-law, approached the amud for Maariv of Motzei Yom Tov, and the Rebbe made Havdalah.

And the Yom Tov would depart in peace from the holy

After Havdalah, the Rebbe appeared on the platform of honor in front of the Great Beis Medrash in the presence of thousands of our community, men, women and children. The Rebbe recited Kiddush Levana and broke into a fiery dance to "Tovim Meoros," and the singing continued, and the Rebbe delivered the "Birkas HaKodesh" on the verse "And now, if you will surely listen to My voice..." One must strengthen oneself against the counsel of the yetzer hara to push off every good commitment until later, but rather begin right now with good commitments, men, women and children. And now that the summer months are coming, we must remember "Set boundaries around the mountain and sanctify it"; we must set boundaries on the yetzer hara, which is likened to a mountain, "sanctify yourself with what is permitted to you," each one according to his level. He concluded with abundant blessings for young and old in all good things. They finished at around 11:30, while thousands upon thousands of Jews remained in the courtyard of the Great Beis Medrash for an extended time, dancing joyously in dozens of circles of chassidim and men of good deeds, with great praise and thanks to Hashem for the elevated times they merited.

On Motzei Yom Tov, the bochurim of our community from Montreal, who had spent Yom Tov in the Rebbe's presence, came in to take leave in his holy home. The Rebbe asked them about their learning and bestowed holy blessings upon them.

May Hashem help that we be able to carry the holiness and influence of Yom Tov throughout the entire year, and give strength and health to the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to continue influencing us for many long, healthy years and to lead us toward our righteous Moshiach, speedily in our days.
