"..We gather here to pay the final respects to our esteemed leader, may he rest in peace. Where was there another such Jew in the last generation who accomplished so much.. But one can say about R' Meir Zelig that there were times, there were difficult times for us. R' Meir Zelig was the first who with his charity could not stand by and watch the injustice. He approached the father, may he be healthy, in those days and gave large sums. Afterwards he established the place of Torah that we spoke of earlier (Kiryas Vayoel Moshe — Ichud Country), the vacation place out there. In such ways and more he was the first and foremost who strengthened and established that it should remain forever.."
