On Friday afternoon at approximately 4:05, when it was the visible sunset, the Rebbe shlit"a, as is his custom, ceased from work.

On Friday night at approximately 5:55, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav R' Yoel Hersh Rottenberg shlit"a of Salka Monsey.
The davening concluded at approximately 7:20, the congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence.

At the tish at his holy residence, the doors were opened to the public at approximately 9:45.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaRav R' Avrohom Moshe Gross shlit"a of Keresztir (Skver neighborhood); Menucha V'Simcha: the distinguished R' Berel Weiss (Los Angeles).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Vayesaper Moshe l'chosno" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of "ein shliach l'davar aveira."

The Rebbe's aliyah was purchased by the distinguished R' Berel Weiss; the Rebbe thanked him and instructed that a Mi Sheberach be recited.
The Rebbe shlit"a also instructed that a Mi Sheberach be recited for HaGaon HaGadol, dayan and av beis din of Kiryas Joel shlit"a, Rabbi Shalom Elyakim Getzel ben Devorah Chana, for a speedy recovery, who is hospitalized due to a serious infection.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "V'hizharta es'hem es hachukim v'es hatorot" and explained with powerful words of arousal that we are already entering the sixth week of the days of Shovavim. Even if one has transgressed repeatedly, one may always do teshuva: just as "a mikvah purifies the impure," even a hundred times, "so too Hashem purifies the impure" without limit; but one must accept upon himself a good commitment and strengthen himself like a fortified wall going forward.

On Motzei Shabbos, late at night, the Rebbe shlit"a consoled by telephone the mourner, HaGaon HaGadol Rabbi Shimon Yitzchak Schlesinger shlit"a, member of the Beis Din Rabbah in the holy city of Yerushalayim, may it be rebuilt, on the passing of his mother a"h.
