Report
The messengers have gone out urgently:
Legal experts surprised by official response from the Board of Regents, just days after the effective conference with AR-PEK
Unexpected positive response raises hopeful expectations
of turning over a new leaf in the campaign to save our chinuch
Regents: We heard and saw facts that we have never before heard or seen – AR-PEK: All options are ready, including a strong legal battle, with the hope that we will not need to reach that point

Just one week after the historic conference took place, at which the askanim of the AR-PEK organization had a first-ever opportunity to present the firm, unequivocal positions of the many thousands of mosdos heads across Greater New York, there is already fresh and favorable news to report to the public, who are anxiously awaiting developments on this issue.

On Friday, AR-PEK reported the first details on the instinctive results that the conference brought, b'siyata d'Shmaya, after the board of the AR-PEK organization received a direct message from the Board of Regents, which referred to last week's virtual conference.

The first reaction of the AR-PEK askanim, upon seeing what the message referred to and how the conference had been received, was, understandably, very positive. They were filled with joyous feelings of excitement upon seeing how strong the impact of the successful conference had been, bringing the Board of Regents to feel it important to return with a clear response so quickly.

Their message was very clear, referring directly to the successful conference held last week, and the Board of Regents writes in very clear words that the conference opened windows onto entirely new perspectives that had not been known until now, and that in their corridors a fresh page has opened with an entirely new outlook on our chinuch, creating a positive mood regarding the entire matter.

It is self-understood that this is not the place to go into the full contents of the message, since it includes a great deal of sensitive information that is not yet fit for publication, taking into account the delicacy of the matter and the forces of impurity with whom we are unfortunately contending. But the bottom line and essence of the message was that the conference was an "eye-opener" for them. It gave them material of which they previously had not the slightest grasp, and let them hear and see many new insights which, b'siyata d'Shmaya, have shown a strong ability to change the view that the Board of Regents has of our chinuch, as never before.
The askanim and board members of the AR-PEK organization received the message with a double significance. First, they take it as a confirmation of "even against his will, he will answer Amen," that the work invested in the content of the prepared speeches at the conference has already paid off, with just a few days having passed, bringing such a surprisingly quick response that shows how powerful the outcome of the gathering was.
At the same time, and more importantly, the message is a strong achievement for the future of the campaign. Considering that the first big step on behalf of this relatively new organization made such a strong impression on the officials and aimed so sharply and successfully, with siyata d'Shmaya, it gives a great dose of chizuk and confirmation that, baruch Hashem, the right approach has been found for standing up against those who wish to destroy our holy chinuch: not by searching for what needs to be "improved" in the "best educational system," but by showing the government officials that all the slanders of the cheap informers are completely false and misleading, that they have no backing for their words, and that it should therefore not even enter anyone's mind that we are going to change any point of our chinuch thanks to those elements.

In particular, the AR-PEK askanim joyfully took note of the fact that, between the lines of the Regents' words, one clearly hears a willingness to continue with the purposeful exchanges of information and clarifications, and even to take further steps by adding various materials and fresh points to convince and establish the current reality that the chassidic chinuch is the best that exists. According to how the Regents express themselves in the message, they were so taken and impressed that it is simply an honor for them to be able to sit down together again and hear more about it. Understandably, once the topic has been received positively, there is more than enough material to add which can surely strengthen the structure that has been built even further, and, b'ezras Hashem, take the campaign to further stages until the harsh decrees are completely nullified, b'siyata d'Shmaya.

The askanim of AR-PEK continue to sit with the major attorneys and are working out the right course to take in the next steps, to bring the holy campaign further up the ladder of success, to the hopeful joy of the tens of thousands of mosdos heads in New York, who are taking the new stages of the campaign with great relief, seeing for the first time such serious current progress in the campaign. This pours in hope for the future, hoping that we will soon see this light at the end of the long, bitter campaign. May it be His will.
At the same time, it is of course self-understood that a positive message does not mean the war is over. The AR-PEK committee remains fully active, standing ready with all plans running in every direction in which one can imagine that further developments will lead. Serving as the active representatives of all parents of children in the mosdos haTorah across Greater New York, they bear the full responsibility to bring out – and make sure it resounds where it needs to – the opinion of all parents, and not to let our voice be drowned out amid the mountains of slander and false incitement that flow unceasingly from all hostile directions.

The message that AR-PEK has sounded, and continues to sound, is very clear: we stand ready with all the tactics of war, not excluding serious legal battles through the true experts and legal giants, should this, chas v'shalom, be needed, until we see the harsh decree nullified and the evil eyes removed from our holy chinuch. While showing appreciation and recognition to the political officials who bring us positive progress, we are also, in a skillful way, establishing a precedent that we do not budge from our unbending position even the slightest bit.

It is hoped and expected that fresh positive progress in this regard will come in the coming days, b'siyata d'Shmaya.
