On Motzei Shabbos, the magnificent dinner took place for the benefit of Mosdos Kiryas Joel and its 12,000 children, may they continue to increase, together with the festive Jubilee (Yovel HaChamishim) event marking 50 years since the founding of the holy community and Mosdos Kiryas Joel. It was held in the giant Beis Rochel auditorium and its adjoining galleries.

R' Moshe Aharon Pilaf shlit"a served as chairman of the evening. "Remember the days of old": a panel took place with R' Avrohom Shmuel Weinberger, one of the first residents of Kiryas Joel, and R' Moshe Yuda Hirsch, one of the first students of Mosdos Kiryas Joel, who reviewed the days of the holy city of Kiryas Joel. HaGaon Rabbi Meir Zwibel shlit"a served as the guest speaker, and spoke about the emotional moments of marking 50 years since the founding of the holy community and Mosdos Kiryas Joel.
An hour of thanksgiving in song and music was provided by the Malchus band together with the singer Rabbi Yaakov Dascal of Eretz Yisroel, and the thanksgiving program was led by R' Amram Acker, head of the singers in our holy courts.

At around 10:20, the master of the holy place and president of the mosdos, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, was received. Upon arriving, the Rebbe danced on the spot for several minutes, in gratitude to Hashem, and the melodies of thanksgiving, praise and gratitude continued, marking 50 years of Torah and yiras Shamayim in the holy city of Kiryas Joel.

Then a longer, masterful musical presentation took place, with rhymed verses about the days of the city, marking "Fifty Years of Kiryas Joel."
The chairman continued with memories of Kiryas Joel from his youth, and called upon the spokesman of the mosdos, R' Meir Hirsch, director of the mosdos, who gave a presentation about the financial situation and the incredible budget of Mosdos Kiryas Joel of as much as 73 million dollars a year, with its 12,000 children and 1,300 employees, may they continue to increase. He highlighted the dramatic expansion of the borders of holiness of Mosdos Kiryas Joel, which is now building two gigantic buildings, both for the Talmud Torah and for the Beis Rochel. It is already evident now that when the Beis Rochel building is completed, there will no longer be room, and a new building will immediately need to be built. He then enumerated the names of the esteemed donors who contributed larger sums for the benefit of the mosdos.

The Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and blessed the entire gathering, and delivered holy words and words about the obligation of the hour. After the divrei Torah, the Rebbe discussed at length the decrees on education in New York, at a time when "the voice is the voice of Yaakov" while "the hands are the hands of Esav." Through the Torah of the children of Israel, the hands of Esav have no power; with Hashem's help we will stand guard over the purity of chinuch with mesirus nefesh. The Rebbe continued about the great success of Mosdos Kiryas Joel in all areas, which exists nowhere else in the world, and expressed his tremendous emotion that over a hundred bochurim of the mosdos have been tested on hundreds of difficult pages of Gemara by heart. He spoke of the tremendous success seen in girls' chinuch, and raised the problem of today's fashions penetrating the schools, and the need to try to maintain the high standard of tznius. He brought up a plan of the mosdos' administration to establish a factory to supply many more fine garments under the supervision of the mosdos. He also mentioned the tremendous expansion of the borders of holiness of Mosdos Kiryas Joel, with two huge, magnificent buildings under construction, and encouraged and urged the members of the community that each one should feel that this is his project and should have a share in it according to his ability.
The Rebbe continued in praise of the "Keren Melamdim," which gives respectable sums to melamdim at the time of their simchas, and thanked the askanim who are now expanding it to distribute also to the teachers of Torah in the yeshivos ketanos. He also spoke words of preparation for Yom Tov of Chanukah, to study the teachings on Chanukah from the holy Kedushas Levi.
The Rebbe continued in praise of the new framework in the mosdos in Kiryas Joel, in which the children are given broad and rich knowledge of Torah, and said, "Had I not seen it, I would not have believed it," how much and how well the children know. The Rebbe wished the askanim success going forward, and concluded with words of blessing to the administration and to the entire community. The event ended at around 12:20.
