Wednesday, Parshas Lech Lecha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Shimon Yisroel Lichtenstein, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe laid tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Chaim Zalman Weisberg.

After davening, the Rebbe led the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 18, verse 21. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe shlit"a visited the distinguished Kiryas Joel matzah bakery, where, beginning last week, mass production has started of the highly mehudar matzos for the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach, for our chassidim in Kiryas Joel and around the world. The Rebbe toured all the bakery's departments for an extended time, and also heard a report from the bakery's manager, HaRav R' Yoel Shlomo Zaldan, about the fresh hiddurim and improvements instituted this year according to the instructions of the Rebbe shlit"a.

At around 2:50, the Rebbe shlit"a set out from his residence in Kiryas Joel for Stewart Airport, from where the Rebbe traveled on a brief visit to Montreal, Canada, on the occasion of a wedding in the home of the distinguished philanthropist, R' Yehuda Weiss of Kiryas Joel, as an expression of gratitude for his generous donations to all the holy needs of our holy kehilla and its institutions everywhere, and in particular for his fantastic sum toward the founding fund of the new talmud torah building of our kehilla in Montreal.

The private plane took off at around 3:50 and landed at around 4:35 at the local airport in Montreal.

From the airport, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled for a short visit to the home of the distinguished philanthropist R' Chaim Hersh Friedman, as an expression of gratitude for his astronomical, generous donation for the purity of Klal Yisroel, toward the magnificent construction of the mikvah in Kiryas Joel. A pleasant conversation ensued; the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing upon the esteemed donor and his entire family.

From there, the Rebbe shlit"a proceeded to our great and splendid beis medrash. The Rebbe arrived at around 6:15. First the Rebbe entered the Heichal HaKollel, where he looked over the learning with great satisfaction. Afterwards the Rebbe davened Mincha in the Heichal HaBeis Medrash; the baal tefillah was R' Binyomin Zev Markowitz.

After Mincha, the entire community of chassidim and the children of the talmud torah came to greet the Rebbe. Also greeting the Rebbe was a delegation of the leaders of the Belz kehilla in Montreal and the Skver kehilla, headed by HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yochanan Wosner shlit"a, Rav of Skver.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went to the wedding at the palace hall in Montreal, arriving at around 7:15, dressed in Shabbos clothing as a close relative, a grandson of his grandfather, the holy Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert zy"a.
Upon arrival, the Rebbe greeted his brother-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a. The Rebbe arranged the kesuba and performed the kinyan, drank a lechayim and offered good wishes to the chassan, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering. Afterwards the Rebbe went to the badeken, where a pleasant conversation took place with his brother-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Montreal shlit"a. Then the Rebbe proceeded to the chuppah, where he served as mesader kiddushin. After the chuppah, the Rebbe warmly wished mazel tov to the chassan and the mechutanim, and in particular to the mechutan, the distinguished philanthropist R' Yehuda.

Then, at around 8:05, the Rebbe set out for the airport.
At the airport, the leaders and distinguished members of our holy kehilla bid farewell, and the Rebbe warmly bestowed his holy blessing, especially upon HaRav R' Moshe Yeshaya Wertzberger of Eretz Yisroel.

The flight took off at around 8:45 and landed at around 9:30 at Teterboro Airport, from where the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:00 in his holy residence.
