At about 8:30 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in a borrowed tallis. Kabbalas Shabbos and Maariv: HaGaon Rabbi R' Yaakov Weiss shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our kehilla in Monsey.

At 9:20 the Rebbe shlit"a began "Atah Hareisa" with fiery holy enthusiasm, which was followed by a heavenly outcry from the thousands upon thousands of Yidden, old and young. Opening of the Aron: R' Yitzchak Michael Jacob.

The sifrei Torah were brought in, the Rebbe went up to the bimah and said the Leshem Yichud, and the singers began "Lamenatzeach". At about 9:30 the Rebbe shlit"a began to dance the elevated Hakafos.

"A tower of strength is the name of Hashem; the righteous runs into it and is elevated" — hours upon hours of holy service during the Hakafos, at the head of a congregation of holy, stirred people. Fortunate is the eye that saw our tent in the simcha of our kehilla.

During the introductory verses before the Hakafos, the dozens of guests from Eretz Yisroel were honored with a sefer Torah.
At the seventh Hakafa, after dancing around the beis medrash with great strength and vigor, the Rebbe shlit"a, as is his holy way, went up to the bimah and continued the dancing with even greater intensity and energy.
After the Hakafos the Rebbe recited "Ledavid Mizmor", and after Aleinu, with a radiant countenance, wished the entire congregation, in all sections of the beis medrash, a good Shabbos and a good Yom Tov. It ended at 12:20.

At about 1:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the large tent in the courtyard of the beis medrash for the Erev Shabbos meal and, as is his holy way, began "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness through "Modeh Ani".
Raising the cup for Kiddush: R' Yoel, son of HaGaon R' Shmuel Binyamin Krausz shlit"a (London).

During the tish, Simchas Torah melodies were sung with great joy.
The Rebbe honored people with the zemiros. "Kol Mekadesh": R' Chaim Yisroel Klagsbald shlit"a (London); "Menucha V'simcha": R' Yoel Krausz shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "On the eighth day it shall be an Atzeres for you", and explained that Shemini Atzeres is a Yom Tov for the sake of the future, and is in the merit of Yaakov Avinu, who nullified the tears of Esav.

"Kah Echsof": R' Yisroel Yissachar Levi (Antwerp). Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Dovid T"B shlit"a.

After the fruit, the Shalom Zachor took place at the home of the bochur Yoel Friedman and at the home of the bochur Shlomo Michael Markovitch.
The singing of joyous melodies continued in honor of the Shalom Zachor of the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Meisels, son of the HaGaon, rav of the Yismach Moshe beis medrash shlit"a.

"On the seventh day": R' Moshe Kahana. It ended at 3:15.

At about 2:40 the Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud and recited the prayer for rain, and "Mizmor L'Dovid Havu La'Hashem", and Kaddish. The gabbai, R' Yoel Kaufman, announced "Mashiv Haruach Umorid Hageshem".

In his holy home the Rebbe made Kiddush in the sukkah as customary, and tasted the foods "kindel" and "nant".

Because of the heavy rain, the Rebbe immediately took leave of the sukkah and recited with emotion the prayer said when leaving the sukkah, and the Yehi Ratzon. The Rebbe stood up and danced with the joy of a mitzvah, and recited "Leshanah Haba'ah B'Yerushalayim".

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "You shall make for yourself the festival of Sukkos", and explained that the mitzvah of sukkah brings abundant parnassah, especially this year, when a sign of blessing from Heaven was clearly seen, that Heaven is pleased with the service of Jewish children. Hashem should help that it be for blessing and not for curse, for life and not for death, for plenty and not for scarcity.

"Kel Mistateir": R' Avigdor Frenkel (Williamsburg). The Rebbe blessed over the cup.

They sang "Hagleh Na" and Yom Tov melodies. The Rebbe recited "Leshanah Haba'ah B'Yerushalayim" and stood up to dance with holy dancing and the joy of a mitzvah, taking leave of Yom Tov Sukkos, and danced around the beis medrash several times, leaning on the HaGaon Av Beis Din of Williamsburg shlit"a and the HaGaon Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a.
