Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a placed the shtreimel on the chassan Yisroel, son of Meir Mordechai Budak.

On Friday night at around 8:50 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon Rabbi Yaakov Weiss shlit"a, Rav of our beis medrash Beirach Moshe in Monsey. After davening, an appeal was held for the holy institution Keren Hatzalah, with HaGaon R' Shmuel Friedman shlit"a speaking. It ended at around 10:25, the congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta and began, in his holy manner, Sholom Aleichem with emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the grandson of the Rebbe, the chassan Yoel Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Sighet shlit"a. Raising the cup: HaGaon R' Shimon Yoel Brach shlit"a, moreh tzedek for matters of sofrus (STA"M) of our kehilla in Williamsburg.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse in the haftarah "Habitu el Avraham avichem" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of "aseh docheh lo sa'aseh."

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories of the holy R' Sender'l of Komarno zt"l, whose yahrzeit falls on Tuesday, 21 Av. At the end, he honored the Ciechanów Rav shlit"a to tell a story.

Kah Ribon Olam: Rabbi Elchonon Chaim Teitelbaum shlit"a. The new chasanim went over to take fruit, and then "Ki Bayom HaShvi'i": HaGaon R' Avrohom Wolf Friedman shlit"a. It ended at around 2:00.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "V'hayah eikev tishme'un" and explained that the words allude to the name Rabbi Akiva. At the end of the year, when people are awakened to teshuva, the question becomes difficult: "If I am a king until now, why did you not come to me?" But Rabbi Akiva follows the view of his student Rabbi Meir, that "either way, you are called children," and so all teshuva is accepted.

After bentching, the Rebbe shlit"a greeted HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Kraus shlit"a, Rosh Yeshiva and president of Yeshivas Toras Chaim of London, who is staying in Kiryas Joel in these weeks and came to Shalosh Seudos b'tzeil hakodesh.

Maariv Motzei Shabbos: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Berel Glantz shlit"a of Bobov, Kiryas Joel. After Havdalah, people went over to wish a gutte voch. It ended at around 11:10.
