Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Matos-Masei — Blessing the Month of Menachem Av — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

This week the talmidim of the Mesivta, Yoel Moshe branch, merited to take part in Shabbos B'tzeil HaKodesh.

On Erev Shabbos afternoon after the mikvah, the yeshiva students presented answers to the Rebbe's question:

On Friday night at around 9:00, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav HaChassid R' Mordechai Wieder (Kiryas Tash).

The davening concluded at around 10:35. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos and to shake hands, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shulchan Aruch table in the heichal of the beis medrash together with the yeshiva students and many guests, and began, in his holy way, Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Meir Eliezer (may he be well), son of HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Berach Moshe shlit"a, rav of the beis medrash. Lifting of the cup: the Zidichov-Chareidim Rebbe shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Simcha Shalom Steinberger shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim in Kiryas Joel. Menucha V'Simcha: HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Yitzchak Wertzberger shlit"a, dayan of Beis Medrash Divrei Yoel in Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the Masorah "Nachnu Na'avor Chalutzim" and explained, in the manner of a derasha, the sugya of "ein shaliach l'davar aveira."

This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories and accounts about his ancestor, the Yismach Moshe zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on Monday, 28 Tammuz.

Kah Ribon Olam: R' Aharon Mendlowitz shlit"a. The new chasanim went over to take fruit, and HaRav HaChassid R' Zusha Neustadt distributed packages in honor of the shalom zachor of a grandson. On the seventh day: HaRav HaGaon R' Chaim Hersh Kahn shlit"a, rebbe in the yeshiva. The seudah concluded at around 2:00.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe came in to daven at around 9:45. Pesukei D'zimra: R' Aharon Mendlowitz shlit"a. For Shacharis the Rebbe approached and sent HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Yitzchak Wertzberger shlit"a to the amud for the chazaras hashatz.

At around 3:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for the zemiros at the Shabbos day seudah; kugel and lechayim were brought in.

During the seudah, several songs of galus and geulah were sung, as well as Yiddish songs, in particular Ani Maamin, which was sung for an extended time while the Rebbe wept at length.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Vayichtov Moshe es motza'eihem l'maseihem al pi Hashem" and explained, in the manner of aggadah, that in the merit of emunah we will be redeemed from galus.

The Rebbe came in for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at around 9:00.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the Masorah "Nachnu Na'avor Chalutzim" and explained that with every mitzvah we fulfill, we rebuild the Beis Hamikdash in our days. Since we do not have the strength to build, we should at least not tear down with our sins what the earlier tzaddikim built, and by conducting ourselves with kindness and mercy, "Boneh B'rachamav Yerushalayim" will be fulfilled.

Yedid Nefesh: R' Aharon Yosef Berger shlit"a (Kiryas Joel). Kel Mistater: HaRav HaGaon R' Moshe Hoffman shlit"a, rosh yeshiva of Bekiyus HaTorah (Williamsburg). The Rebbe blessed over the cup.

The Rebbe approached the amud for Maariv on Motzei Shabbos in honor of the yahrzeit this week, 28 Tammuz. After Havdalah, people went over to wish a good week. The davening concluded at around 11:20.

The bochur Mendel Wolf, son of R' Yisroel Shalom Ungar (Kiryas Joel), also presented an answer to the Rebbe's question.

The Zidichov-Chareidim Rebbe shlit"a, who was spending Shabbos B'tzeil HaKodesh, paid a visit to the Rebbe's holy residence. A pleasant conversation ensued with stories of tzaddikim of Sighet and Zidichov. The Zidichov Rebbe shlit"a also conveyed warm regards from our holy kehilla in Yerushalayim following a visit last week in the holy city of Yerushalayim, and the Rebbe warmly bestowed upon him his holy blessings.

At around 1:00 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for the Melaveh Malka in honor of the yahrzeit this week of his ancestor, the Yismach Moshe zy"a. The Rebbe drank lechayim, wished the entire congregation well, and distributed shirayim to the grandchildren of the baal hahilula zy"a.
The zemiros for Melaveh Malka were sung, continuing with Yiddish songs, after which the Rebbe related holy stories for an extended time. It concluded at around 2:00.
