Thursday, Parshas Korach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yoel Herskowitz, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Chaim Meir Weiss.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to hagbah, and after davening he delivered a shiur on a sugya in the yeshiva's shiurim. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the talmidim of Yeshivas Beis Shimon Belz of Boro Park entered the Kodesh Penimah. The Rebbe farmed the bochurim for a lengthy time, the bochurim sang several niggunim, and the Rebbe distributed a prize to each bochur and wished them a blessing of kedusha.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim:
R' Shmuel Yuda Felberbaum (Williamsburg) - R' Avrohom Yaakov Cohen (Antwerp), in the halls of Kinor David.
R' Shalom Zick (London) - R' Yoel Bar"sha Gandel, at the Beis Rachel Paradise hall.

The times for entering the Kodesh Penimah were from around 8:20 until 1:10 at night, in the Rebbe's home at Ohel Court.
The Rebbe davened Mincha at 8:20.

During the entry times, the talmidim of Yeshiva Ketana Kedushas Yaakov of Shikun Skvira entered the Kodesh Penimah. The Rebbe farmed the bochurim for a lengthy time, and the bochurim passed by to receive the Rebbe's blessing.

At around 9:45, the Rosh HaMatzilim and emissary of the Beis Din, HaRav Shimon Sisha shlit"a, chairman of Merkaz Ezra V'Yeutz, entered the Kodesh Penimah together with the rabbonim of the Vaad Mishmeres Chomosayich Yerushalayim. A lengthy conversation took place about the many activities of the Merkaz and plans for the future to expand the Merkaz's scope.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim held in his home, for the following mechutanim:
R' Yitzchak Gruber (Monsey) - R' Avrohom Hershka.
R' Eliyahu Yuda Rotta - HaRav Asher Anshel Weiss shlit"a.

After the tenaim, at around 10:30, a reception was held in the beis medrash adjacent to the Rebbe's home in honor of the Rosh HaMatzilim, HaRav Shimon Sisha, in the presence of the rabbonim and dayanim of our holy kehilla from throughout greater New York. First to speak was the Rebbe's grandson, HaRav Yehoshua Lavin shlit"a, who described the problems he had faced with the military and how the Merkaz helped him. HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din of Kiryas Joel shlit"a, welcomed the distinguished guest and spoke about the activities of the Merkaz, in which the dayan shlit"a himself took part. Then HaGaon Rabbi Naftali Hirtzka Zwebel shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Williamsburg and one of the rabbonim of the Vaad Mishmeres Chomosayich, spoke.

Afterwards, the heartfelt words of R' Shimon Sisha were heard about his emotion at the tremendous help of the many askanim, and he presented various plans through which he hopes to expand the activities, and he thanked all the askanim who stand with him, especially the rabbonim of the Vaad Mishmeres Chomosayich.

The Rebbe drank a lechayim and delivered divrei Torah, expressing the greatness of saving Jews from the military, and recounted the efforts of his grandfather, the Yetev Lev zy"a, to free bochurim from the army, all the more so to rescue them from the impure Zionist army, where there is no possibility of remaining a Jew. The Rebbe said that the only active means against the decree of the draft is solely through Merkaz Ezra V'Yeutz, which helps Jews on a daily basis. He emphasized the obligation upon our community to support the Merkaz with a generous spirit so that the activities can continue with even greater strength, and concluded with abundant blessings to all the askanim, especially to the Rosh HaMatzilim, that the Hashem's will should succeed in their hands. It ended at around 11:10.

Later, HaGaon Rabbi Feivel Soffer shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Buenos Aires, paid a visit. A pleasant conversation took place about the state of Yiddishkeit in Argentina and the rav's many efforts to elevate the glory of Torah and Chassidus in Argentina. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon him.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:30, and afterwards continued to receive the public.
