Report
Wednesday, Erev Yom Tov — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 9:00, the Rebbe shlit"a came in to Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Baal tefillah: HaRav R' Yoel Weinberger.

Immediately after davening, the Rebbe went into his private room and made a lechayim on chametz'dike beer as is customary. The Rebbe then went home, where he sold the chametz to the non-Jew, made the kinyanim and handed over the shtar.

At around 10:40, the Rebbe went over to the front of the Beis Medrash HaGadol for sereifas chametz. The Rebbe recited the Leshem Yichud "Ach bayom harishon tashbisu se'or mibateichem," threw in the chametz and the lulav as is customary, waited until it was burned properly, recited Kol Chamira with the yehi ratzons with great inspiration, and at the end wished a good Yom Tov.

In the afternoon at around 2:15, the Rebbe shlit"a went to the mikvah in honor of Yom Tov. The Rebbe then went over to the bakery in the yeshiva building, also to prepare matzos. The Rebbe washed his hands, poured water into the flour, then went to the table and distributed pieces of dough, reciting Hallel aloud with holy emotion and outpouring of the soul. He rolled out a matzah, then looked over the baking work at the ovens, and separated challah with a brachah.

At around 4:00, the Rebbe left the matzah bakery and went over to the large matzah bakery in Kiryas Joel on Dinev Street. The Rebbe looked over the baking process and all the departments, then poured water into the flour and took challah, and then went home.
Later in the afternoon, the Rebbe came down to the hall in his home, burned the candles and made an Eruv Tavshilin. He also looked over the royal Seder table, which was prepared with the maximum number of seats to accommodate the nearly 300 chassanim and bochurim who were placed between the two holy Seder nights.
