Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Lech Lecha — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a placed the shtreimel on the chassan Hillel, son of R' Amram Tirnauer.

On Friday night at about 6:25, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha.

After Mincha, the shamash, R' Yoel Kaufman, announced by order of the Rebbe the important call of the kehilla and mosdos administration that everyone should go to vote, each man with his household, and vote for the endorsed candidates.

Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Dovid Eckstein, of Eretz Yisroel.

Davening ended at about 8:00, and there was an Apiel for the Kollel Tiferes Bochurim of Williamsburg. The crowd went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe shlit"a went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shulchan Hall for the Shabbos seudah together with hundreds of talmidei hamesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with feeling and melody.

In the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "Lech Lecha m'artzecha": every action a Jew does is placed in the Makom HaMikdash; when one does mitzvos and good deeds, he sanctifies the Makom HaMikdash, and chas v'shalom the opposite, he defiles it. "And the living shall take it to heart" — how many times and how much have we, chas v'shalom, caused defilement. One must take it to heart through teshuva and engage in Torah, for words of Torah lift a person from impurity to purity.

On Motzei Shabbos the Rebbe shlit"a went to the chanukas habayis at the home of R' Yosef Shaffer in the Smith Gardens area in the Galilos of Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe affixed the mezuzah, drank lechayim, and bestowed of his holy blessings.
