Tuesday, Parshas Haazinu — Thirteen Attributes — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at 5:45, the Rebbe entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Selichos. The baal tefillah was HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Yosef Wertzberger shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Hunyad. It concluded at around 6:45, and the Rebbe returned home.

At around 9:20 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, son of R' Moshe Yissachar Friedman shlit"a.
Afterwards, the Rebbe lit 5 candles and said Kaddish during davening in honor of the yahrzeit of his grandfather, the holy Gaon R' Elazar Nissan zy"a.
After davening the Rebbe went into his private room and put on Rabbeinu Tam tefillin.

At around 11:00 the Rebbe shlit"a returned to the Beis Medrash for the recitation of the entire Sefer Tehillim. The baal tefillah was R' Yehoshua Teller. After Tehillim the Rebbe said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit. It concluded at around 1:20.
After Tehillim the Rebbe recited the Vidui HaGadol of Rabbeinu Nissim with intense weeping for an extended time. Afterwards the Korbanos were read; the baal koreh was the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Hunyad shlit"a. It concluded at around 2:10.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the lake on Quickway Road for the public recitation of Tashlich, and recited the order of Tashlich with outpouring of the soul, and the melodies of the Yamim Noraim were sung. It concluded at around 2:30.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:20 in his home on Tzanz Street. The Rebbe lit candles and said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit. At around 7:50 he davened Maariv.

Monday, Parshas Haazinu — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the crack of dawn, around 5:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Yehoshua Shmuel Wieder. They finished around 6:35, and the Rebbe returned to his holy home.

Around 9:50 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel Berkowitz, son of HaGaon HaGadol, the Av Beis Din shlit"a.

- Petichah: R' Mordechai Epstein.
- Kohen: R' Moshe Brosh Katz.
- Levi: R' Moshe Ber Landau shlit"a.
- Shlishi: the Rebbe shlit"a.
After the Torah reading, many guests from Eretz Yisroel and Europe, who had come to spend the month of Tishrei b'tzeil hakodesh, bentched Gomel.
- Hagbah: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Chaim Hersh Rokeach, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Chaim Yaakov shlit"a.
- Gelilah: the bar mitzvah bochur Yoel Berkowitz.

After davening, the simcha of the bris milah of the Rebbe's grandson, the newborn son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Chaim Yaakov shlit"a, took place in the main sanctuary of the beis medrash.
The Rebbe shlit"a was honored with sandek and mohel. The standing sandek was HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Kozlov Monsey shlit"a. Brachos and naming: HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Tarcal shlit"a. "And his name shall be called in Israel": 'Yeshayahu', after the holy Baal Maaseh L'Melech of Vitzen zt"l.
After the bris, the entire congregation went over to wish the Rebbe shlit"a mazel tov, after which a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

Also coming in for a private audience were members of the Igud Avreichim of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, to receive the Rebbe's blessing on the occasion of the start of a special Yerushalmi learning group exclusively for those who have already completed Shas within the framework of the Toschscha Shaashuai chavurah. The Rebbe asked about the details of the group and bestowed his holy blessing.

A few minutes later, the seudas bris took place in the southern part of the beis medrash sanctuary. At the seudah, the baal simcha, the father of the newborn, HaGaon shlit"a, and the grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Tarcal shlit"a, were in attendance.
The Rebbe honored HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga shlit"a, with Yom Liveshah.
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of Torah on the verse "From all your sins before Hashem you shall be purified," noting that the final letters spell "milah," meaning that in the merit of milah one merits teshuvah. He continued with several stories about the connection of the holy Rebbes of the House of Sighet zy"a with the holy Baal Maaseh L'Melech zt"l, and warmly blessed the baal simcha, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering.
For bentching, the Rebbe honored the grandfather, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Kozlov Monsey shlit"a, and the family members with the Harachaman's. They finished around 1:45.

Afterwards, the Rebbe went over to the home of his son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Chaim Yaakov shlit"a, in the expanded Beirach Moshe neighborhood, where the Rebbe offered blessings to the mother and the other women of the family.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe's mechutan, HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Beis Aharon shlit"a, came for a private audience to receive the Rebbe's holy blessing in honor of the Yamim Noraim. They had a pleasant conversation, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon him.

Private audience hours were from 6:45 until 11:15 at night in the Rebbe's holy home on Ohel Street.

The Rebbe davened Mincha around 7:20 and Maariv around 11:15. Before Maariv the Rebbe lit candles, and after Maariv he said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit of his ancestor, the holy Rabbi Elazar Nissan zy"a.

Sunday, Parshas Haazinu — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, around 5:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the recital of Selichos in the Beis Medrash HaGadol, with R' Chaim Hersh Mendlowitz shlit"a leading the davening. It concluded at around 6:35, and the Rebbe returned to his holy residence.

Before Shacharis, the Rebbe placed the schach on the private sukkah at his holy residence, for the first time in the new sefarim room, and recited "l'shem tzeil sukkah." The Rebbe gave various instructions and thanked the askanim who are engaged in the holy work of setting up the sukkah.

At around 10:00 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis.
Before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yaakov Yoshe Grunwald, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The son of HaRav R' Yitzchak Eizik Glick shlit"a, a moreh tzedek.
- The bochur Chaim Hersh Schwartz.
- The bochur Yoel, son of Shmuel Landau.
- The bochur Yoshe Leib Stein.
- The bochur Yoel, son of Yaakov Mittelman.
- The bochur Yaakov Binyamin Stessel.
- The bochur Yoel, son of Moshe Goldberger.
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the hall of the beis medrash.

In the afternoon hours, HaRav R' Yitzchak Markowitz entered for a private audience and presented the Rebbe shlit"a with a new, magnificent silver honey holder in honor of Yom Tov. The Rebbe thanked him, gave him blessed honey, and shared his holy blessing.

Entry hours for private audiences were from 6:45 until 11:30 at night at his holy residence at the Ohel, Kt.
The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:15.

During the entry hours, a signing of documents took place at which the distinguished philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein, builder and founder of the Vayoel Moshe neighborhood and donor of Beis Medrash Beis Menachem Zev, pledged the sum of one million dollars to expand the beis medrash. A pleasant conversation took place about the splendid neighborhood. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor, drank a lechayim, and shared his holy blessing with the donor, with his grandson HaRav R' Zalman Teitelbaum shlit"a, rav of the beis medrash, and with the administration and mispallelim of the beis medrash.
Another signing of documents also took place, at which R' Yaakov Hersh Wertheimer pledged a considerable sum for the building fund committee of Beis Medrash Beis Menachem Zev. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor and shared his holy blessing.

At around 10:15 the Rebbe went down to the hall at his holy residence, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Yaakov Mordechai Landau and R' Azriel Spitzer.
- R' Zalman Weider and R' Asher Shmuel Katz.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:30.

After the entry hours, at around 11:50, the Rebbe went over to the home of the Gaon Rabbi, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Chaim Yaakov shlit"a, to the Vachnacht celebration in honor of the birth of his son, l'mazel tov. A pleasant conversation took place on the halachos of sukkah and the customs of the Aseres Yemei Teshuva. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and shared his holy blessing, then recited Krias Shema, and on his way out at around 12:10 wished the mother and the women of the family mazel tov as is customary.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Vayeilech — Shabbos Shuva, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Friday night at around 7:25 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went to the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein; at Lecha Dodi the choir sang the new melodies. They finished at around 9:00. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 11:15 the Rebbe entered the tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos, and began, as is his custom, with Shalom Aleichem with great emotion and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson the bochur Yechezkel Shraga Teitelbaum, son of HaGaon Rabbi Teitelbaum, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Elazar shlit"a. Hagbahas HaKos: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Lipa Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi Teitelbaum, rav of Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored the following with the zemiros.
- Kol Mekadesh: his grandson HaRav R' Chaim Yaakov Rokeach shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Kol Eliyahu.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "Vayeilech Moshe," and explained it in the manner of a derush on the topic of a mitzvah that comes through an aveira.

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related about his grandfather HaRav HaKadosh Rabbi Elazar Nissan zy"a, whose yahrzeit falls on Tuesday, the Thirteen Attributes (the 13th of Tishrei).

The new chassanim went over to take fruit.
Afterwards a Simchas HaShalom, in honor of a baby boy born to the Rebbe's grandson, the son of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi Teitelbaum, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Chaim Yaakov shlit"a, took place. Bundles were brought in and the baalei simcha poured beer, melodies of simcha were sung, and the Rebbe warmly blessed the baal simcha shlit"a, all the grandchildren, and the entire congregation.

The Rebbe delivered a Torah discourse on the verse "Shuvah Yisroel ad Hashem Elokecha," and explained that in order for "open for Me an opening like the eye of a needle" to be fulfilled, it is enough that "take with you words" exist: a word of tefillah, a word of remorse and teshuvah to Hashem. He spoke at length with words of inspiration, saying that, standing between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, now is the time to daven that we merit complete teshuvah.

The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup.
