Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Nitzavim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

On Friday night at around 7:30, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos was led by R' Amram Acker. The davening ended at around 9:05. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At around 9:35, the Rebbe entered the holy tish in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of Shiur Gimmel from all the branches of the yeshivos ketanos of Kiryas Joel, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with feeling and sweetness.
- Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Binyamin Chaim Meisels, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law HaGaon Rabbi, Rav of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a.
- Hagbahas HaKos (raising of the cup) was given as an honor to Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Brody shlit"a (a bochur).

Before the fish, the Rebbe delivered words of Torah on the Midrash "Yisroel who do not eat from the produce of their fields, I will not bring about destruction," and explained that through tzedakah and chesed one is inscribed for a good new year. Since, IY"H, he will be traveling to Eretz Yisroel this coming winter, the Rebbe said he wished to ask the bochurim to use the time of bein hazmanim to go collect money for the poor of Eretz Yisroel, and in that merit they will emerge vindicated in judgment. He then continued with guidance regarding telephones among bochurim, that they should know the destruction that comes from them, for this is not the way one becomes a great bochur. He concluded with his holy blessing.

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe entered for davening at around 9:40. Berachos and Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Asher Yaakov Eckstein. The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis.

The Rebbe joined along with the singers and listened to the nigunim, and then bestowed his holy blessing that they be accepted with mercy and favor.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Atem nitzavim hayom" and explained that now, before Rosh Hashana, when one is engaged in teshuva and rectifying one's deeds, one must be filled with shame and embarrassment that one is aroused to teshuva only through the fear of judgment and troubles in Jewish homes; one should have been aroused to teshuva even without them. But although even this is something only through the power of shame, "the red departs and the pale arrives," all the harsh decrees depart, and mercy and kindness flow for the new year.

Wednesday, Parshas Nitzavim — 4th Selichos — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at 5:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the recital of Selichos. The baal tefillah was R' Aharon Wertzberger.
They finished at around 6:25, and the Rebbe returned home.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis.
Before davening, a bris took place for a newborn son of R' Yisroel Zev Gandel, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The son of HaGaon Rabbi Lipa Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Sasov Rebbe shlit"a and son-in-law of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, shlit"a.
- The bochur Azriel Yakubovitch.
- The bochur Chaim Dovid Neustadt.
After davening the Rebbe blew the shofar and said fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary in the month of Elul. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the heichal of the beis medrash.

During the morning hours the Rebbe made his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

Hours for entering to see the Rebbe at the Rebbe's home on Ohel Court were from 6:30 until 12:00 at night.

At around 10:15 the Rebbe went down to the tnaim hall at his home, where the Rebbe read the tnaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Yaakov Shtauber and R' Dovid Yitzchak Klein.
- R' Yoel Berger shlit"a and R' Yisroel Yuda Wertzberger shlit"a.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:40, and Maariv at around 12:00.

Tuesday, Parshas Nitzavim — Third Selichos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the early morning hour of 5:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the great beis medrash for the recitation of Selichos. The baal tefillah was HaGaon Rabbi Aryeh Dov Kornbluh shlit"a, rosh yeshiva of the fourth grade. They concluded at around 6:20, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 9:45 the Rebbe arrived at the great beis medrash for Shacharis.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Shmuel Zanvil Wertheimer.
- The bochur Avrohom Yosef Stessel.
- The bochur Yoel Scheer.
After davening the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim as is customary. Afterwards a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly entry times. Immediately upon arrival, the Rebbe first went up to the home of R' Shlomo Yaakov Lieberman, where the writing of the letters took place for the Sefer Torah being written by R' Shlomo Yaakov, which was brought into our great beis medrash in Williamsburg this evening.
The Rebbe wrote several letters and drank lechayim, and warmly blessed R' Shlomo Yaakov, his son R' Menachem, and all the members of the family.

Entry times were from 5:00 until 11:30 at night at the Rebbe's holy residence on Hooper St. The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:40 and Maariv at around 10:40, and continued to receive the public.

Monday, Parshas Nitzavim — Second Selichos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

During the morning hours, the talmidim of the Talmud Torah, eighth grade, of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg, branch of Rabbi Yoel Stern shlit"a, entered the Rebbe's holy residence, where the Rebbe distributed holy coins to the children who had taken upon themselves good commitments regarding davening during the summer months.

Entry times were from 6:15 until 11:50 at night at the Rebbe's holy residence on Lee Ave.

At around 7:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha at his holy residence. After Mincha, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yoel Yitzchak Lefkowitz and R' Yoel Goldstein, in the halls of Gina Klein.

At around 10:10 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall at his holy residence, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim R' Yoel Indig of London, and R' Yosef Chaim Palatschek.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 11:00, and after Maariv continued to receive the public.

Sunday, Parshas Nitzavim — First Selichos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At dawn, at 5:25, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol of Kiryas Joel for the recitation of Selichos.
The Beis Medrash HaGadol, with all its halls and corridors out to the porch, was filled to overflowing with thousands of Satmar chassidim from across Greater New York and New Jersey. The Rebbe shlit"a led the davening as chazan with great fervor, wrapped in the tallis and kappel of the Divrei Yoel zt"l, from the collection of R' Avrohom Moshe Falkowitz, and recited the Selichos of the Divrei Yoel zt"l with great hisorerus. The Selichos concluded at around 6:25.
Immediately after Selichos, the Rebbe went into his private room, where the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the son of Rabbi Avrohom Yissachar Berish Welz (of Boro Park).
- the bochur Mendel, son of R' Hirsch (of Williamsburg).

The Rebbe entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for Shacharis at around 9:30. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur Moshe Weissman.

After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited the fifteen chapters of Tehillim as is customary.

After davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Chaim Shimon Weinberger, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe went over to the home of R' Avrohom Leib Brach, wishing him a refuah sheleimah, where the brisos of twins born to his grandson R' Avrohom Hersh Gelbstein took place, and the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Yechidus hours were from 6:00 until 10:50 at night, in the Rebbe's holy home on Ohel Court.

At around 7:15, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Gedalya Weinberger and R' Moshe Baruch Englander in the halls of Kinor David.

Afterward, the Rebbe went over to Beis Medrash Divrei Yoel for the hachnasas sefer Torah simcha, of a Torah written by R' Gedalya Mattisyahu Lenarowitz together with the mispallelim of the beis medrash. The Rebbe danced the holy dancing for an extended time and honored HaGaon Rabbi Dovid Yitzchak Wertzberger shlit"a, the dayan of the beis medrash, and the donor of the sefer Torah to dance. He then recited L'Dovid Mizmor as is customary and bestowed his holy blessings.

Afterward, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the heichal of the beis medrash. After Mincha, at around 7:55, the Rebbe returned to his holy home and continued the yechidus hours.

During the yechidus hours, a signing of documents took place, in which R' Zalman Leib Kappel pledged a large sum for the new mikvah in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe signed the documents together with the donor and bestowed his holy blessing.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:50.

At around 9:55 the Rebbe entered the Shulchan HaTahor in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta from Kiryas Joel, and began, in his holy manner, Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness. The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground," and explained that in the days of Elul, when one must do teshuva for the deeds of an entire year, one must reflect on where one comes from, because relative to the holy Avos, the damage above is far greater, and when one does proper teshuva, the merit of the Avos protects and brings down all good. With tears he aroused the congregation: when we say in Selichos "Zochalim v'Ro'adim miYom Bo'echa," one must reflect whether one says it with the whole heart, and make use of the final days of the year to prepare for Rosh Hashana.

The Rebbe wrote in a few letters, drank lechayim, and extended blessings to R' Gedalya Masya, to HaGaon R' Dovid Yitzchak Wertzberger shlit"a, dayan of the beis medrash, and to all the mispallelim of the beis medrash.

Friday, Erev Shabbos Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Hershel Steinberg, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yosef Yisroel Siegelbaum.

After davening the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary during the month of Elul.

After Shacharis the brissen took place:
- for the newborn son of R' Yoel Wertheimer, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
- for the newborn son of R' Yitzchak Meir Farkash (Monsey), where the Rebbe served as sandek.
Afterward a lechayim took place in the Rebbe's private room with the bar mitzvah bochur and the baalei bris.

A meeting was also held in the Rebbe's private room with the directors of the mesivta, where various details regarding the coming school year, IY"H, were discussed, and the Rebbe decided that, IY"H, they will learn Maseches Bava Basra.

Thursday, Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Mordechai Bentzion Eckstein, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah branch of Beirach Moshe. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Yoshe Itzkovitch.
- the bochur Shalom Moshe Eckstein.

During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening the shofar was blown, and the second round of Sefer Tehillim was begun, and the Rebbe recited fifteen chapters of Tehillim, as is customary during the month of Elul. Afterward a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

The talmidim of the Yeshiva's branches also entered the Rebbe's room, who had presented themselves for examination on the entire Maseches Shabbos, and the Rebbe distributed a Tehillim to all the bochurim and bestowed his holy blessing upon them.

After a short time, at around 12:45, the Rebbe returned to the heichal of the beis medrash and delivered the seventh sugya shiur, on the sugya of mitzvah haba'ah ba'aveirah, as preparation for the Shabbos Shuva derasha. After the sugya shiur he continued with words of mussar and guidance in anticipation of the Yemei HaRachamim V'HaRatzon, IY"H, and he brought out the joy of the bochurim now, as the year draws to a close and they are going home having completed the entire Maseches Shabbos. 'B'zos yavo Aharon el hakodesh' — 'b'zos' in the Gemara refers to Shabbos; with Maseches Shabbos we draw near to the Yom HaDin. He concluded with abundant blessings.
Several niggunim were sung in honor of the conclusion of the zman, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva well. It ended at around 1:40.

Afterward the Rebbe went over for his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse. On leaving the slaughterhouse, the Rebbe looked over the construction work at the matzah bakery of our holy kehilla, which is being expanded to be able to meet the demand for mehudar matzos.

In the afternoon hours a group of askanim from Houston, Texas, who run hachnasas orchim for the benefit of the sick in the local hospitals, entered the Rebbe's room, accompanied by the dynamic askan on behalf of the sick, R' Meir Wolf Mendlowitz. A pleasant conversation took place about the many activities on behalf of the sick, and the Rebbe warmly bestowed his holy blessing.

Entry times to the Rebbe's room were from 6:30 until 12:50 at night, at his holy residence on Uhel Ct.

Around 7:30 the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- HaRav R' Chaim Yaakov Hershkovitz shlit"a and R' Naftali Hirtzka Weiss, in the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise.
- R' Moshe Henoch Friedman and R' Baruch Mordechai Rosenberg, in the halls of Kinor David.
After the chuppos the Rebbe davened Mincha at his holy residence.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.
