Wednesday, Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Eitz Chaim Sighet on Hooper St.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Menachem Mendel Landau.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary. Afterwards, a lechayim gathering was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the main sanctuary of the beis medrash.

The Rebbe went up to his holy residence, where a lechayim gathering was held with the mispallelim of Beis Medrash Ohr Yisroel Elimelech of our holy kehilla, on the occasion of the appointment of HaRav HaGaon R' Avrohom Wolf Schnebalg shlit"a as the dayan of the beis medrash. A pleasant conversation developed about memories of the sugya that the Rebbe shlit"a studied forty years ago, and about the customs of reciting Selichos among the talmidim of the Baal Shem Tov zy"a. Songs were sung in honor of the occasion, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and warmly blessed the dayan shlit"a that no stumbling block should come from under his hands, and then blessed his family and the administration and gabbaim of the beis medrash.

Afterwards, a group of bochurim from the Yeshiva Gedolah, Kedushas Yoel branch, entered the inner sanctum to receive the Rebbe's holy blessing on the occasion of their departure this afternoon to the holy places in Europe. The Rebbe inquired about the details of the trip, gave his holy blessing, and distributed shlichus mitzvah money to the bochurim.

Around 4:00 the Rebbe set out for Boro Park, where a special time of entry had been arranged for our members who are residents of Boro Park to go in to give and receive blessings in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor.

The entry time ran from 5:00 until 1:20 at night, in the private room in the main beis medrash. Immediately upon arrival, the Sardahely Rebbe shlit"a came over, and a pleasant conversation ensued about the Sardahely yeshiva. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and warmly gave his holy blessing in anticipation of the coming Days of Mercy and Favor.

Many rabbonim and geonim, rabbonim and dayanim of our kehilla, rabbonim of the city, roshei yeshiva and prominent members of the community were seen entering the inner sanctum to give and receive blessings in anticipation of the coming Days of Mercy and Favor. Among others who entered were HaGaon R' Yosef Meyer shlit"a, rosh yeshiva of Maor HaTorah, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the rav of our kehilla in Boro Park shlit"a, and HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Nachum Meir German shlit"a, rosh yeshiva of Bobov.
Around 7:15 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the main sanctuary of the beis medrash; the baal tefilla was R' Yoel Friedman.

Around 8:45 the Rebbe went over to the home of R' Moshe Kahana for a short break, and then returned immediately to the beis medrash and continued receiving the public.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 12:30 in the main sanctuary of the beis medrash; the baal tefilla was R' Moshe Kahana.
After Maariv the Rebbe continued receiving the public. Around 1:20 the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

Tuesday, Parshas Ki Tavo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Beis Medrash Imrei Noam in the Divrei Yoel neighborhood together with the talmidim of Yeshiva Gedolah, the Ohr HaTorah branch of Monsey, under the direction of HaRav R' Yisroel Mordechai Seidenfeld shlit"a.

Before davening, a bris was held for the newborn son of R' Shlomo Reuven Malach, where the Rebbe served as sandek. The Rebbe put on tefillin with the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yisroel, son of R' Aharon Spitzer.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited the ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary.

Afterwards, a lechayim gathering was held in the main hall of the beis medrash in honor of the end of the zman. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe made a lechayim and extended his blessings to the bar mitzvah bochur and to the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva. The Rebbe then delivered words of chizuk to the bochurim and concluded with his holy blessing, and the Rebbe distributed a copy of Kisvei Yoel to all the bochurim.

Afterwards, the Rebbe went down to the lower floor of the beis medrash, where the Rebbe looked over the construction work at the mikvah and the Heichal HaTorah, and in the course of this heard a report from HaGaon R' Yisroel Ber Stein shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of the beis medrash, about the progress of the plans for the expansion of the boundaries of holiness, and extended his holy blessing.

At around 1:35, the Rebbe arrived at the Heichal HaMesivta, the Veyoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the sixth sugya shiur on the topic of mitzvah haba'ah ba'aveirah, as preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. After the sugya shiur, the Rebbe addressed the talmidim of the yeshiva from all the branches. The Rebbe said that, b'ezras Hashem, there is hope to travel to Eretz Yisroel this coming Parshas Toldos to strengthen our chassidim and our kehilla and holy mosdos in Eretz Yisroel. Likewise, there is hope to be in Meron for Shabbos Kodesh, which is truly an elevated matter, and the Shabbos in Meron of Parshas Pekudei 5776 still lingers in the bones to this day. In this regard the Rebbe asked the bochurim, as well as the chasanim who are still within the walls of the yeshiva, not to travel along to Eretz Yisroel, since the zman is about to begin and it could disrupt the yeshiva's schedule. The Rebbe also asked the bochurim that, since there are many poor people in Eretz Yisroel and we travel there to strengthen them, the bochurim should go out to collect money during the bein hazmanim days and raise larger sums to be able to distribute in Eretz Yisroel to the poor among our chassidim there. The Rebbe concluded by saying that all the bochurim who bring in respectable sums will have their kvitel taken along to be remembered for salvation and mercy at the tziyun of the holy Tanna, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron, "and he, Rabbi Shimon, is one to rely upon."
It ended at around 2:30.

From there the Rebbe traveled into Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours, which ran from 4:45 until 12:30 at night at his holy home on Hewes St.

At around 7:15 there was a short break when the Rebbe went over to the home of R' Naftali Hirtzka Stein, one of the Rebbe shlit"a's trusted confidants, and graced with his presence the Sheva Brachos celebration for his son the chasan, as a mazel tov. A pleasant conversation developed with recollections of days gone by and of the holy Rebbe R' Moshele of Shiniva zy"a, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing upon the chasan, the mechutanim, and the esteemed grandfathers shlit"a.

Afterwards the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home and continued receiving the public.

During the reception hours, the Kretchnif-Sigot Rebbe of Williamsburg shlit"a came for a visit, and a pleasant conversation ensued about various mourning customs during the year of aveilus. The Kretchnif Rebbe shlit"a handed a kvitel to the Rebbe shlit"a to bless and be blessed ahead of the Days of Mercy and Favor, b'ezras Hashem, and the Rebbe warmly extended his holy blessing.

Also entering the Rebbe's room was the administration of Chaburas Yesodei HaTorah, on the occasion of the campaign to increase the number of learners in the chaburah ahead of the grand siyum of half of Shas, which will take place, IY"H, in the coming month of Cheshvan. The Rebbe looked over the list of learners for an extended time, heard a report about the chaburah's further plans, and bestowed his holy blessing upon the administration.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 10:45 and after Maariv continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yonah Feldman.
- The bochur Shlomo Eliezer Glickman.
Afterwards, the Rebbe lit candles, and after Aleinu said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit of his ancestor, the holy Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Yukel of Valova zy"a. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to hagbah.

After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and said ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary. Then the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 27, verse 3. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

After davening, a meeting took place in his holy home, with the participation of the Gaon, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, together with HaGaon Rabbi Hersh Leib Bernstein shlit"a, chairman of the Kiryas Joel Vaad HaKashrus, and the rabbis of the Vaad HaKashrus, where they discussed various recent questions that are on the agenda in the mehudar slaughterhouse of our holy kehilla. The Rebbe spent an extended time going through the questions in depth of halacha together with the dayan shlit"a, and gave his holy instructions in all these matters in order to maintain the highest kashrus standards.

At around 1:40 the Rebbe arrived at the Heichal HaMesivta, the Yoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the fifth shiur in the sugya of mitzvah haba'ah ba'aveirah, as preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. After the shiur, the Rebbe engaged in give-and-take with the bochurim, concluding at around 2:40.

Yechidus hours were from 6:30 until 12:50 at night in his holy home on Uhel Ct.

At around 7:15 the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- R' Meir Dovid Heilbrun and R' Yoel Landau in the halls of Kinor Dovid.
- R' Yisroel Alter Weinstock and R' Yoel Kappel in the halls of Beis Rachel Paradise.
- R' Meir Teitelbaum and R' Yoel Wider in the halls of Ginas Klein.

Between the chuppahs, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home. Before Mincha the Rebbe lit candles, and said Kaddish after Aleinu in honor of the yahrzeit of his ancestor, the holy Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Yukel of Valova zy"a.

At around 10:00 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Chaim Meir Greenfeld and R' Chaim Wolf Spielman.
- R' Yoel Rubin and R' Chaim Yisroel Wider.

During the yechidus hours, a kesivas ha'osiyos took place for the Sefer Torah being written by the Gruber family l'iluy nishmas their father R' Shmuel Avrohom Meir a"h, which will be brought in this coming Sunday, the first night of Selichos, in Montreal. The Rebbe wrote in several letters, drank a lechayim, and wished the whole family well.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.

Sunday, Parshas Ki Savo — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.
- The bochur Elimelech Levi.
- The bochur Menachem Mendel Gruz.
After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary. Afterwards, a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

On the way out of the beis medrash, the Rebbe stopped at the "Tefillin K'Halacha Drive" run by the "Agudas HaSofrim" under the auspices of the Beis Horaah of Kiryas Joel, where tefillin could be painted, the knot repaired, and so on. The Rebbe looked over the activities and bestowed a blessing of his holiness upon the askanim of the Agudah.

At around 1:00 the Rebbe traveled to Lindon, arriving at 2:10 at the Five Star hall, where the Chumash seudah of the students of our holy mosdos in Lindon took place, with the participation of the children's parents and grandfathers.
The Rebbe greeted the rabbonim at the head table, and the children sang several melodies and rhymes in honor of the occasion. HaGaon Rabbi Elazar Mordechai Sofer shlit"a, rav of our kehilla in Lindon, spoke. Afterwards the children recited the verses of Chumash from Parshas Vayikra as is customary, and sang Torah melodies. Then the Chumash-starters came forward, and the Rebbe distributed a siddur to all the children. The Rebbe also distributed blessed coins to the students of the older grades of our holy mosdos.
The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the children and the entire public. He delivered words of holy Torah and expressed his joy that in Lindon there are so many young children beginning to learn Chumash. He said that, b'ezras Hashem, Lindon has a strong future, where hundreds of children will be educated, IY"H. He bestowed abundant blessings upon the parents and grandfathers of the Chumash-starters, the melamdim, and the administration of the mosdos, and especially upon the administration of our holy mosdos in Boro Park, who stand ready to assist the mosdos. The event concluded at around 2:50.

From there the Rebbe went to the guest accommodation in the home of R' Mordechai Weiss, where many of our chassidim, residents of the city, entered for a private audience in preparation for the Days of Mercy and Favor.
Audience hours were from 3:00 until 5:45.

After the audience hours, the Rebbe went to the new beis medrash "Alesk Stanislav," headed by HaGaon Rabbi Nosson Dovid Ashkenazi shlit"a, which was opened this past Shabbos Kodesh. The Rebbe looked around the beis medrash and affixed a mezuzah. Then a lechayim gathering took place in the beis medrash sanctuary, a pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed of his blessing.

Afterwards, the Rebbe went to visit the construction work at our magnificent beis medrash, which is in its final construction phases. The Rebbe entered the beis medrash and looked around, and heard a report from the HaGaon, rav of our kehilla in Lindon shlit"a, and from the administration of our holy kehilla about the plans to renovate the beis medrash for Rosh Hashana, which is coming upon us for good, and the Rebbe bestowed of his blessing.
At around 6:15 the Rebbe set out for home in Kiryas Joel.

Upon arriving in Kiryas Joel at around 7:15, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- R' Yosef Leib Kaufman and R' Yoel Berger in the Kinor Dovid halls.
- R' Yekusiel Yeshaya Gross and R' Yisroel Gutman in the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.
- HaGaon Rabbi Menachem Zev Stern shlit"a, moreh tzedek in our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, and R' Yoel Hersh Rotta in the Ginas Klein halls.

At around 7:50 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home at the Ohel Kt.
Afterwards there were audience hours in the Kodesh Pnimah until 12:00 at night in his holy home.

At around 10:15 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim halls in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- R' Yoel Brauner and R' Meir Avrohom Gross.
- R' Yoel Gebra and R' Ariel Yoel Keira.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:00. The Rebbe lit candles and approached the amud in honor of the yahrzeit of his ancestor, the holy Rabbi Yisroel Yaakov Yokel of Valove zt"l.

Motzei Shabbos 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 11:30 the Rebbe arrived at the Ohel Feiga beis medrash for the simcha of the pidyon haben of his grandson, the newborn son of HaGaon Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a. Upon arrival, the Rebbe warmly greeted his mechutan, the Dushinsky Rebbe shlit"a, as well as the grandfathers and mechutanim shlit"a. Several niggunim were sung, along with the zemiros of Melaveh Malkah.
R' Pinchas Katz shlit"a, Rosh Yeshiva of Dushinsky in Boro Park, served as the Kohen receiving the pidyon, and the baal simcha, Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a, delivered words of Torah.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and gave blessings to the baal simcha, the grandfathers and mechutanim, and the entire gathering. The Rebbe also delivered a dvar Torah (divrei kodesh) and explained that a pidyon haben during the month of Elul is a good preparation for the Yemei HaRachamim v'HaRatzon, since it awakens the complete redemption, which will also come through Hashem Himself and not through an emissary, as with the earlier redemptions. The Rebbe concluded with abundant blessings. The event ended at around 12:15.

Afterward, the Rebbe went over to the halls of Bais Rochel Paradise for the siyum on Maseches Kiddushin by more than 450 talmidim of 9th grade, may they live and be well, from both branches of Mosdos Kiryas Yoel, with the participation of the parents and grandfathers of the bochurim. The bochurim made the siyum together and Kaddish was recited, and the Rebbe stood up and danced for an extended time with great emotion. Rhymed verses were sung.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and gave blessings to the entire gathering. The Rebbe also delivered a dvar Torah and explained that when one dances in honor of the Torah, one is acquired to Hashem through kinyan hagbaha and becomes an eved of Hashem. The Rebbe spoke with emotion about the greatness and the joy when so many hundreds of bochurim complete Maseches Kiddushin, and concluded with words of blessing.
Afterward, the Rebbe distributed to all the bochurim the sefer Birkas Moshe – Chiddushei Sugyos. The event ended at around 1:00.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Ki Seitzei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before candle-lighting, the Rebbe put the shtreimel on the chassanim.
- The chassan Shmuel Yuda, son of R' Chaim Yaakov Herskowitz shlit"a.
- The chassan Asher Lemel, son of R' Shlomo Moskowitz.
- The chassan Yissochor Dov, son of R' Meir Dovid Heilbrun.

On Friday night at about 7:55, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went up to daven Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav R' Dovid Meir Schwartz. They finished at about 9:25. The congregation went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At about 9:55, the Rebbe entered the Shulchan HaTahor in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the Mesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, with Shalom Aleichem, with emotion and melody.
Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the Rav Yissochor Ber Teitelbaum, son of the Rav of the beis medrash Barach Moshe shlit"a. Lifting the cup: HaGaon R' Nosson Dov Schwartz shlit"a — a moreh tzedek.

The Rebbe shlit"a gave honors for the zemiros.
- Kol Mekadesh: R' Tzvi Akiva Breitstein, chairman of the board of the mosdos in Beit Shemesh.
- Menucha V'Simcha: Rabbi Yosef Leib Kahn shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Lo silbash shaatnez" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the sugya of a mitzvah that comes through an aveira.

A few minutes later, the Rebbe entered the Simchas Kiddusha Rabbah in the northern hall of the beis medrash. The Rebbe made Kiddush and tasted mezonos and fish, niggunei simcha were sung, and the baal simcha spoke words of Torah.
The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the baal simcha, upon the Rav of the beis medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, and upon the entire congregation. He delivered divrei Torah on the verse "Ki Hashem Elokecha mis'halech b'kirbecha machanecha" and explained that when new generations come down, the mitzvos of the future generations are joined together, and so "it is better for man that he was created." The simcha is a good preparation for the month of Elul, that we should emerge innocent in judgment. He concluded with his holy blessing. They finished at about 1:05.
