Tuesday, Parshas Ki Seitzei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Shimon Levi, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, Branch Eitz Chaim – Shiur Gimmel.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Yisroel Efraim Fishel Katz.
- the bochur Meir Yuda Eisenbach.
- the bochur Hersh Leib Fischer.
- the bochur Bension Mezei.
- the bochur Shimon Shimi Friedman.

After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary. The Rebbe shlit"a then taught the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3. Afterwards a lechayim took place with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the hechal of the beis medrash.
Then all the talmidim of the yeshiva entered the Rebbe's room, where the bochurim went in to give and receive blessings in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor, and on the occasion of their departure to the holy places in Europe this coming Sunday, Parshas Ki Savo. The Rebbe warmly blessed each one individually and distributed shliach mitzvah money.

At around 1:40 the Rebbe arrived at the hechal of the Mesivta, Branch Vayoel Moshe, where the Rebbe delivered the second shiur on the topic of a mitzvah performed through a transgression, as preparation for the Shabbos Shuvah derasha. After the shiur, the bochurim engaged in discussion with the Rebbe on the topic. It concluded at around 2:30.

Afterwards the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg for the weekly reception hours. Upon arriving in Williamsburg at around 4:30, the Rebbe paid a shiva call to the family of R' Shalom Yuda Klein a"h.

The reception hours ran from 4:45 until 11:45 at night at the Rebbe's home on Hewes St. During the reception hours, HaGaon Rabbi Yehoshua Rosenberger shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Kiryas Rama in Beit Shemesh and member of the Beis Din of the Eidah HaChareidis in the holy city of Yerushalayim, came for a visit.
A pleasant conversation ensued about the Holy Rebbe R' Pinchas of Koritz zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on the night of 10 Elul. The Rebbe honored him with a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing, and also extended a blessing of mazel tov on the occasion of the wedding of his granddaughter, which took place last night, Monday night.

HaGaon Rabbi Yekusiel Teitelbaum shlit"a also entered the Rebbe's room together with his son-in-law R' Yechezkel Dovid Singer shlit"a, a rebbe in our yeshiva Ahavas HaTorah in Williamsburg, to receive the holy blessing on the occasion of the wedding of his daughter, and to give and receive blessings in anticipation of the Days of Mercy and Favor, which are coming upon us. A pleasant conversation developed about the holy Eitz Chaim zy"a, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing.

A group of bochurim from the yeshiva ketana branches Mivtzar HaTorah and Ahavas HaTorah also entered the Rebbe's room, having brought in larger sums for the benefit of the Kiryas Joel fund. The Rebbe distributed the sefer Lev Aharon – Avos to the bochurim and bestowed his holy blessing.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 7:30 and Maariv at around 10:30 at his home. After Maariv, the Rebbe recited Kiddush Levanah and then continued receiving the public.

Monday, Parshas Ki Seitzei — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yaakov Eliezer Berkowitz, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

Before Shacharis, the Rebbe offered nichum aveilim by telephone to the brothers, the Kretchnif-Sigut Rebbes shlit"a who reside in Eretz Yisroel, and afterwards to the brothers, the Rebbes shlit"a who reside abroad, on the passing of their father, the Kretchnif-Sigut Rebbe zt"l.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Yeshiva Gedolah branch of Divrei Yoel. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yaakov Mendlowitz.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up as the third aliyah, and after davening the shofar was blown and ten chapters of Tehillim were recited, as is customary in the month of Elul.
Afterwards, the Rebbe delivered the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 27, verse 3. Then a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe offered nichum aveilim by telephone to his mechutan, the Kretchnif-Yerushalayim Rebbe shlit"a, who is sitting shiva for his brother, the Kretchnif-Sigut Rebbe zt"l.

At about 1:40 the Rebbe arrived at the Heichal HaMesivta, the Voyoel Moshe branch, where the Rebbe delivered the first sugya shiur on the topic of "mitzvah haba'ah ba'aveirah" as preparation for the Shabbos Shuva derasha. After the shiur, the Rebbe, as is his custom, engaged in lively Torah discussion with the talmidim, and it concluded at about 2:30.

In the afternoon hours, kollel avreichim of Belz from Boro Park entered the Rebbe's room together with HaGaon Rabbi Asher Ekstein shlit"a, dayan and moreh d'asra of Belz in Boro Park, who had been on a visit to the glatt mehadrin slaughterhouse after completing a review of Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De'ah, volume 1. A pleasant conversation ensued regarding shechita and melicha and the many chumros of the slaughterhouse in Kiryas Joel.
Afterwards, all the avreichim went in to receive the Rebbe's blessing, and the Rebbe warmly wished the HaGaon, the dayan of Belz shlit"a, and the Rav of the kollel, HaGaon Rabbi Michoel Pesach Osterlitz shlit"a, well.

Reception hours were from 6:30 until 12:50 at night at the Rebbe's holy home at the Ohel.

At about 7:15 the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim:
- Rabbi Yoel, son of R' Shmuel Dovid, Markowitz shlit"a and HaGaon Rabbi Yitzchak Shalom Friedman shlit"a, a moreh tzedek, at the Kinor Dovid hall.
- R' Alexander Moshe Klein and R' Yoel Brown at the Beis Rochel Paradise hall.
- R' Elazar Feldman and R' Avrohom Yeshaya Shalom Knapler at the Ginas Klein hall.
After the chuppos, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

At about 10:30 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim: R' Zev Dov Weisenfeld and R' Yechezkel Shraga Friedman of Montreal.
The Rebbe davened Maariv at about 12:50.

Sunday, Parshas Ki Setzei, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash HaGadol. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Chaim Yaakov Mordechai Silberstein.
- The bochur Avrohom Dovid Lebovits.
- The bochur Eliezer Sussman Sofer.
- The bochur Yitzchak Mordechai Katz.

After davening, the Rebbe blew shofar and recited ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary during the month of Elul. Afterwards, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe was on his weekly visit to the glatt kosher slaughterhouse.

At around 4:15 the Rebbe traveled to Monsey, where the annual yechidus times took place in our Beis Medrash HaGadol ahead of the days of mercy and favor, as hundreds of chassidim, elders along with youths, entered to bless and be blessed with a kvitel and pidyon ahead of the Yamim Noraim, IY"H.

The yechidus times were from 5:00 in the afternoon until 1:00 after midnight.

At around 7:30 the Rebbe davened Mincha in the Heichal HaPolish, the ba'al tefillah being the bochur Moshe, son of R' Avrohom Dovid Wagschal z"l. After Mincha, the Rebbe continued receiving the public.

At around 12:00 the Rebbe davened Maariv, the ba'al tefillah being HaRav R' Berel Rosenfeld. After Maariv, the Rebbe continued with the yechidus times until 1:00, when the Rebbe traveled home to Kiryas Joel.

Motzei Shabbos, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 11:30 the Rebbe entered for the start of the writing of a Sefer Torah that is being written by members of our holy kehilla in honor and in the merit of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.
Upon entering, the Rebbe danced on the spot for several minutes, and for an extended time songs of arousal and attachment to the study of Torah were sung.

HaRav R' Shmuel Zanvil Wertheimer - the patron of the occasion, handed the quill to the Rebbe shlit"a, and the Rebbe wrote the first letter in the Sefer Torah, drank a lechayim, and blessed the entire assembly. He then delivered a Torah thought on the verse "Prepare the way for yourself," explaining that through cherishing the Torah one can merit to do teshuvah itself, and no suffering is needed, since the holy Torah pleads in merit of Klal Yisroel before Hashem. He expressed the feelings of such an elevated Shabbos, whose climax is the start of the writing of a Sefer Torah, which shows the cherishing of Torah. He spoke at length in praise of the kehilla and the mosdos, of which one may be proud, and of the esteemed rabbi shlit"a, whose reputation is renowned throughout all of Monsey and beyond. He concluded with abundant blessings for the entire assembly.

The Rebbe rose and danced for an extended time in honor of the Torah. Afterwards, all the chassidim went over to wish a good week and took from the Rebbe's tish honey blessed by the Rebbe shlit"a.

The proceedings ended at around 12:30, and the Rebbe shlit"a was escorted with song and music, and the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Shoftim – Yahrzeit of Maran HaGaon HaKadosh the Yitav Lev zy"a – "Shabbos HaKehel" among a congregation of hundreds of Anash from Monsey at the Armon Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut – "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The members of our holy kehilla in Monsey offer praise and thanks to the Creator after an exceptionally uplifting Shabbos Kodesh, when they fulfilled "prepare for yourself the way" and traveled a long distance to take shelter in the shadow of holiness, to receive abundant holy influences and firm foundations in all areas of life. They merited that our father, shepherd, and teacher, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, revealed his thoughts and light fell, with powerful holy words, guidance, and inspiration, many times throughout Shabbos, following the path of the baal hilula, Maran the Yitav Lev zy"a, bringing an elevation and uplift to the members of our kehilla, now and for generations. With a prayer to the living G-d for the Rebbe shlit"a, that he may lead us for many years with good health, until Moshiach Tzidkeinu speedily.

Friday afternoon at around 3:00 the Rebbe arrived at the hotel to spend Shabbos, greeted the heads and administration of our holy kehilla, and looked around the hotel.

A few minutes before candle-lighting time, around 7:10, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash and lit the candles at the amud in honor of the holy yahrzeit.
The Rebbe then put the shtreimel on the grooms.
- The chosson Tuvia, son of Binyomin Weinberger.
- The chosson Shaul Moshe, son of Zalman Leib Malach.

The Rebbe then entered the dining hall and, with a blessing, lit the Shabbos Kodesh candles.

In the evening around 7:55 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached Mincha.
After Mincha, HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Meir Zwibel shlit"a, one of the rabbonim of our holy kehilla, delivered the opening Shabbos address.
Kabbolas Shabbos: HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Shlomo Laub shlit"a.
After all the tefillos throughout Shabbos Kodesh, the Rebbe recited Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit. They finished around 9:40. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

Around 10:10 the Rebbe entered the holy table in the dining hall together with all the members of our holy kehilla, and began, in his holy way, Shalom Aleichem with feeling and sweetness.
Eishes Chayil: the bochur Chaim Hersh, son of HaRav HaTzaddik R' Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of the Sigheter beis medrash in Monsey. Raising the cup: HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a.

After Kiddush the bochurim left to eat the Shabbos seudah in a separate hall and returned for the zemiros and divrei Torah.

After the fish, the Rebbe delivered longer holy words on the verse "Prepare for yourself the way and divide…" and said that, as we stand on the yahrzeit of the Yitav Lev zy"a, who established the new approach of Chassidus that continues to this very day, we must reflect on what his path is and by what a Chassidic Jew is known. In detail, the Rebbe discussed three principles: personal conduct, conduct of the home, and a pure outlook on the coming of Moshiach. Especially since we live in such a large city as Monsey, where besides many upright Jews there also live light and empty people, one must be separate and despise all modernism, and hold strongly by davening in our own batei medrash even if one has to walk a long way, and hold with all one's strength to the path of the holy Yitav Lev zy"a, "and by his light let us go."

After the soup, the Rebbe again delivered holy words on the verse "Prepare for yourself the way and divide…" with words of guidance on conduct of the home, especially regarding chinuch of sons and daughters: to accustom the children to speak a refined language and, chas v'shalom, not to lie or use foul language; that another's penny should be like treif to us; to maintain a higher level of conduct on Shabbos and during the week; to keep a watchful eye on all matters; to honor and strengthen the melamdim both with money and with words. In this way, b'ezras Hashem, we will raise upright and Chassidic generations until the coming of the Redeemer.

With the zemiros the Rebbe honored:
- Kol Mekadesh: R' Moshe Gross shlit"a of Kerestir.
- Menucha V'Simcha: R' Shmuel Gross shlit"a of Kerestir.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "If a matter is hidden from you" and explained it in a homiletic way in the sugya of a mitzvah that comes through a transgression.

- Kah Echsof: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a of Sigheter Monsey.
- Birkas Hamazon: HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a.

This week the Rebbe shlit"a told stories of the baal hilula zy"a for an extended time.

- Kah Ribon Olam: HaRav HaGaon R' Nosson Dovid Ashkenazi shlit"a of Stanislov.
The bochurim went over to take fruit while the Rebbe sat with a radiant countenance and looked at each bochur as the house bochur distributed the fruit on his behalf. A shalom zachor also took place for the newborn son of R' Shlomo Elazar Lichtenstein.
- Az B'Yom HaShevi'i: R' Lipa Halberstam shlit"a.
They finished around 1:50.

Shabbos Day

On Shabbos Kodesh morning the Rebbe entered for davening around 9:55.
Berachos: R' Shlomo Zalman Weinberger shlit"a (Kiryas Joel). Pesukei D'zimra: R' Alter Weberman shlit"a. The Rebbe then approached Shacharis.

- Hotzaah and Hachnasah: HaRav HaChassid R' Yisroel Yoshe Kalish.
- Pesukei Shema Yisroel: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of the Sigheter beis medrash in Monsey.
- Carrying the Sefer Torah to the bimah: HaRav HaChassid R' Binyomin Weinberger.
- Baal Korei: HaRav HaChassid R' Avrohom Moshe Gottesman.

At the aliyos, the donors and patrons of the Shabbos were called up, and they also pledged large sums and purchased merits in the new building of Yeshiva Ketana, Snif Kinyan Torah.

After his aliyah, the Rebbe instructed that a Mi Sheberach be made for the patrons of the Shabbos, and an additional Mi Sheberach for the ill for the bochur Yosef Yoshe, son of Frumet Bila, for a speedy recovery – one of the members of Anash from Monsey.

For Mussaf the Rebbe sent HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a, grandson of the baal hilula zy"a.

They finished around 12:45.

A few minutes later the Rebbe entered for Kiddush in one of the side rooms, which had been specially set aside for the donors and patrons of the Shabbos. The Rebbe made Kiddush and tasted mezonos and fish. HaRav HaGaon R' Dovid Shlomo Laub shlit"a spoke and announced that among all the pledges at the aliyos, the enormous sum of two and a half million dollars was raised for the new building of Yeshiva Ketana, Snif Kinyan Torah, which is in the middle of its construction phases! He also announced on behalf of the Shabbos organizer that the Rebbe shlit"a himself is contributing one million dollars toward the new yeshiva building.

Several niggunim were sung and the Rebbe told holy stories relating to Sigheter, and bestowed from his holy blessing upon all the donors.

Around 1:30 the Rebbe entered the hall where the bochurim ate the Shabbos seudah. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe delivered holy words and guidance to the bochurim on the verse "Prepare for yourself the way and divide…", which alludes to the word "Vayma'en," the three times "nine" that one must say to the yetzer hara. The advice is learning Torah in purity in the mikvah, davening properly, and not speaking idle talk while wearing tefillin; understanding what one learns and conducting oneself as befits a Chassidic bochur in all matters. He concluded with his holy blessing.
On the way out, he wished the administrator, HaRav HaChassid R' Berel Rosenfeld, well.

Around 1:50 the Rebbe entered the dining hall for the seudah. The Rebbe washed, and HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Monsey shlit"a, continued with his address. At the conclusion of his words he thanked the Rebbe shlit"a warmly and expressed that the one for whom a miracle is performed does not recognize his miracle, the privilege of taking shelter in the shadow of the holiness of a Rebbe whose words are heard from one end of the world to the other, and wished the Rebbe shlit"a that he continue to give of himself for many long, healthy years until the coming of the Redeemer.

After the fish, the Rebbe delivered holy words on the verse "If a matter is hidden from you" and explained it with the well-known parable that as long as a Jew learns Torah it is like beautiful melodies and Heaven looks away from his deeds, and he encouraged coming to the beis medrash to learn every day.

At the pitzei, the Rebbe distributed shirayim to all the melamdim of our holy mosdos.

With the zemiros the Rebbe honored:
- Baruch Hashem Yom Yom: the students of Yeshiva Ketana, Snif Kinyan Torah.
- Baruch Kel Elyon: the students of Yeshiva Ketana, Snif Darchei HaTorah.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Prepare for yourself the way and divide…" and explained that in order to do teshuva, one need not resort to fasts and self-mortification, but it must be genuine, because Hashem examines hearts.

Birkas Hamazon: HaRav HaTzaddik R' Aharon Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of the Sigheter beis medrash in Monsey. They finished around 3:40.

The Rebbe entered the beis medrash for Mincha around 7:50.

The Rebbe said Torah on the verse "Prepare for yourself the way and divide…" and explained that when a Jew does teshuva during the month of Elul, there are accusers who say that it should not be accepted, because last year and two years ago he also took upon himself to do teshuva and to correct his deeds, but in the end "and the children returned to their borders." Yet by the power of the faith of the Jewish children in the coming of Moshiach, even after so many years the teshuva is accepted with mercy and favor.

Friday, Parshas Shoftim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning, the Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Ketana, the Avnei Tzedek branch, under the direction of HaRav Chaim Eliezer Davidowitz shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The son of HaRav Asher Anshel Griesgot shlit"a.
- The bochur Chananya Levy.
- The bochur Shabsi Brach.
- The bochur Yoel Pinchas Zicherman.
After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited the ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary.

Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place in the beis medrash hall. Several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the bar mitzvah bochurim and upon the rebbeim and talmidim of the yeshiva. He then delivered a holy address to the talmidim of the yeshiva, urging them to make use of the few weeks remaining until the end of the year by rising early and reviewing their learning, and concluded with his holy blessing.

Around 1:45 in the afternoon, the Rebbe set out on the way to the palace hotel in Stamford, Connecticut, where the Rebbe will spend an elevated Shabbos together with members of our holy kehilla of Monsey, Shabbos of the holy hilula of his grandfather, the Rebbe HaGaon HaKadosh, the Yetev Lev zy"a.

Thursday, Parshas Shoftim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning before davening, a bris took place for the newborn son of R' Yuda Leib Singer, in the home of his grandfather, HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Nosson Fischer, with the Rebbe serving as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, the Beirach Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yuda Kahn.
- The bochur Yushe Yakobs.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening, the Rebbe blew the shofar and recited the ten chapters of Tehillim as is customary.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 12:15.
