Wednesday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning the following brissim took place:
- The son born to R' Yehuda Asher Roth, son of R' Moshe Leib, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
- The son born to R' Yerachmiel Roth, son of R' Moshe Leib, of Boro Park, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.
- The son born to R' Leipa Brach, son of R' Pinchas, where the Rebbe served as sandek.

Afterwards, at around 9:50, the Rebbe set out on the annual visit to Machane Rav Tov, the bochurim's camp in Swan Lake, to daven Shacharis together with the students of the preparatory yeshiva classes of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg and Boro Park.
The Rebbe arrived at the camp at around 10:50. Upon arrival, the Rebbe greeted the camp directors, R' Mordechai Weiss and his son R' Aharon, who accompany the camp from beginning to end.

The Rebbe put on tefillin in the beis medrash, and then the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yoel Landau, son of R' Moshe Leib.
- The bochur Pinchas Tzvi Markowitz.
The baal tefillah was HaBochur Rabbi Avrohom Dovid Wagschal z"l, of Monsey.

After Shacharis, the Rebbe crossed over to the bungalow colony to the home of HaRav R' Aharon Weinberger for a morning meal.

At around 1:30 the Rebbe returned to the camp, where the Rebbe entered the batei medrash and looked in on the learning, beginning with the beis medrash of the students of our holy mosdos in Williamsburg, under the direction of Rabbi Yehuda Ber Teller shlit"a, where the Rebbe walked among the tables, listened, and engaged in Torah discussion with the bochurim for an extended time.

Afterwards the Rebbe went down to the beis medrash of the students of our holy mosdos in Boro Park, under the direction of Rabbi Akiva Yosef Kahana shlit"a, where the Rebbe listened and engaged in Torah discussion with the bochurim for an extended time.

Afterwards the Rebbe went back up to the beis medrash of the Williamsburg students, where a lechayim gathering took place with all the bochurim together in the main hall of the beis medrash. Several songs and rhymes were sung in honor of the occasion. The Rebbe drank lechayim and gave blessings to all the bochurim and the rabbeim.
Then the Rebbe delivered lengthy words of holy Torah to the bochurim, particularly about rising before dawn to learn, which is a form of mesirus nefesh, and also strongly urged the bochurim to be very careful not to engage in idle talk while wearing tefillin.
In addition, the Rebbe urged the bochurim to review the meaning of the words of the Leshem Yichud for putting on tefillin and of Ahavah Rabbah, and concluded with a holy blessing for the rabbeim and for all the bochurim.
It concluded at around 3:15.

At around 3:30 the Rebbe arrived at Machane Rav Tov, the boys' camp of the students of our holy mosdos, grades 6, 7 and 8, of Williamsburg and Boro Park, in Monticello, New York.

The Rebbe went around to all four batei medrash, beginning with the batei medrash of the Williamsburg students, the branch of Rabbi Moshe Eliyahu Green shlit"a, the branch of Rabbi Yoel Stern shlit"a, the branch of Rabbi Elazar Eichenstein shlit"a,
and then the Boro Park students, under the direction of Rabbi Zerach Shapiro shlit"a.

For over an hour the Rebbe walked among the children, observing how they learn and engaging in Torah discussion with the children about their studies. While at the camp, the Rebbe especially greeted his grandchildren and the grandchildren of his father, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, students of the camp, and gave them pocket money, following the custom of his father zy"a.

On the way out, the Rebbe went in to the very youngest children, residents of the camp.
The children sang a song and the Rebbe gave out sweets for the rabbeim to distribute to the children.

A few minutes later a lechayim gathering took place with all the children together in the dining room, where the children sang several songs and several children sang heartfelt rhymes in honor of the occasion. Then the Rebbe made a lechayim and gave blessings to all the children and rabbeim, delivered words of holy Torah, and spoke of the greatness of the study of Torah, especially of Torah shebichsav and Torah shebe'al peh (Tashbar), and concluded with his holy blessing.
Then the Rebbe distributed shirayim for the rabbeim to give out to all the children. It concluded at around 5:30 and the Rebbe left the camp and drove through as the children stood lined up on both sides of the camp.

At around 6:40 the Rebbe arrived in Shikun Skvira, where the Rebbe graced the chuppah ceremony at the wedding of the granddaughter of his brother-in-law the Skver Rebbe shlit"a. The kallah is the daughter of his grandson Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Twersky shlit"a, and the chasan is the son-in-law of the Rebbe of Rachmistrivka of Monsey shlit"a. The Rebbe waited until after the chuppah and warmly congratulated his brother-in-law the Skver Rebbe shlit"a, the chasan and the mechutanim, and the distinguished Rebbes and rabbanim shlit"a, among them the grandfather, the Lojev-Chernobyl Rebbe shlit"a, the Rachmistrivka Rebbes shlit"a, who are brothers, and the Vizhnitz Rebbe of London shlit"a.
From there the Rebbe returned home to Kiryas Joel.

At around 8:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Ohel Court.
Afterwards there were yechidus hours until 12:40 at night in his holy home.

At around 10:30 the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his holy home, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- HaRav R' Yechiel Koller and HaRav R' Shalom Yosef Shapper,
- HaRav R' Yechezkel Dov Banda and HaRav R' Avrohom Weissman,

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:40.

Tuesday, Parshas Eikev, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before davening, a bris of a baby boy took place for R' Chaim Berish Rata, at which the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in Yeshiva Gedolah, branch Eitz Chaim - Shiur Gimmel.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- the bochur Yitzchak Yoel Stein.
- the bochur Yoel, son of Aharon Moshe Schwartz.
- the bochur Yisroel Shalom Ungar.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3.
Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Heichal of the beis medrash.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe went up to the Divrei Yoel branch of the yeshiva, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa in his private room.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppahs of the mechutanim:
- R' Yoel Bitman and R' Avrohom Yuda Weinfeld, in the Kinor Dovid halls.
- R' Hillel Rosenberg and R' Yoel Oberlander, in the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.
- R' Levi Yitzchak Geshtetner and R' Shraga Elchanan Wertzberger, in the Ginas Klein halls.

After the chuppahs, at around 8:10, the Rebbe arrived at the affixing of a mezuzah in the new scribes' rooms of the 'Igud HaSofrim' under the auspices of the Beis HaHoraah of our holy kehilla. The Rebbe looked around for an extended time at all the facilities and heard a report from HaGaon Rabbi Meir Zaldan shlit"a and HaGaon Rabbi Yoel Markowitz shlit"a about the many activities of the Igud HaSofrim, where thirty sofrim and checkers sit and write mezuzos.
The Rebbe went around to all the sofrim's rooms and affixed a mezuzah in one of the new rooms. The Rebbe expressed great satisfaction with the beneficial activities of the Igud HaSofrim and warmly wished a blessing to all the sofrim and the heads of the endeavor.

At around 8:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his home on Ohel Street.
Afterward, there were times of entry to the Rebbe until 12:50 at night in his home.

During the times of entry, the talmidim of Yeshiva Machane Ephraim of Lakewood entered the Rebbe's room. The Rebbe heard their learning and delivered words of guidance to the bochurim, after which all the students of the yeshiva went over to receive the Rebbe's blessing.

At around 10:30, the Rebbe went down to the tenaim hall in his home, where
the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim:
- Rabbi Yisroel Ari Berkowitz z"l and Rabbi Chaim Moshe Elimelech Katz shlit"a.
- R' Avrohom Menachem Gottlieb and R' Hershel Trichter.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 12:50.

Monday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before davening, a bris of a newborn son took place for R' Zerach Steinberg, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe davened Shacharis in the Heichal of the Misivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
- The bochur Yissachar Dov Kornbluh.
- The bochur Yoshe Roth.
- The bochur Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Singer.
- The bochur Avrohom Simcha Hirsch, son of R' Mordechai (Ramah).
- The bochur Naftali Hirtzka Gross.
- The bochur Nachman Lebovits.
- The bochur Menachem Yosef Fischer.
During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went to hagbah.

After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 27, verse 3, during which the Rebbe spoke words of preparation for the month of Elul and the Yamim Noraim, may they come upon us for good. Afterwards, the talmidim of the yeshiva came over to say goodbye, and a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon hours, the Rebbe made his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Aharon Elazar Rubinfeld and R' Yehuda Hersh Berger in the Kinor David halls.
And at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Chaim Hersh Lebovits and R' Yeshaya Yaakov Binder in the Ginat Klein halls.

After the chuppos, at around 8:10, the Rebbe arrived at the Mivtzar HaKollelim building, where the second test was taking place as part of the "Toras'cha Sha'ashuai" chaburah. The Rebbe went up to all the floors and looked over the hundreds of examinees with great nachas.

At around 8:20, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home on Ohel Court.
Afterwards, there were yechidus hours until 1:00 at night in his holy home.

At around 10:45, the Rebbe read the tenaim in the tenaim hall in his holy home, for the mechutanim:

- R' Eliezer Hersh Neiman and R' Chaim Kornbluh.
- R' Yosef Chaviv Masri and R' Yosef Saruga.

During the yechidus hours, HaRav Tzvi Elimelech Twersky shlit"a, son-in-law of the Rachmistrivka Rebbe of Monsey shlit"a and grandson of the Skverer Rebbe shlit"a, entered the Rebbe's room to invite him and receive his blessing on the occasion of the wedding of his daughter, mazel tov, taking place this Wednesday in Shikun Skvira, and the Rebbe warmly wished him his holy blessing.

Also entering was R' Gedalya Szegedin, who gave the Rebbe shlit"a a report on the visit of the esteemed Governor Hochul at Machane Beis Rochel, where she was received with honor and respect this Monday by the students, and was thanked for her help on behalf of chinuch. He also discussed in detail the follow-up meeting with the askanim at the home of R' Meir Hirsch, where various plans for the future were discussed, both regarding the gezeiras hachinuch and various other matters for the benefit of our brethren of the Jewish people living in New York.

The Rebbe davened Maariv at around 1:00.

Sunday, Parshas Eikev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning the Rebbe entered for Shacharis at the beis medrash of Kehal Yereim – Beis Elimelech at around 8:50.

Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Eliyahu Friedman (Manchester). Baal tefillah: R' Shabsi Bar"d Wertheimer (Montreal). After davening, a lechayim celebration was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the hall of the beis medrash, and a discussion developed on the halachos of tefillin. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed blessings upon the bar mitzvah bochur and the entire congregation.

The entire congregation came over to bid farewell, and the Rebbe walked home to his holy residence. On the way, a conversation developed about the connection of HaRav HaTzaddik Rabbi Refael Gross of Berbesht zt"l with the holy Kedushas Yom Tov zy"a.

At around 5:20 the Rebbe left his holy residence on the way to Mount Washington Regional Airport, where the Rebbe boarded the private plane. The plane took off at around 6:00 on the way home, after spending the past four weeks resting.

At around 7:05 the Rebbe's plane landed at Stewart Airport, and the Rebbe traveled about half an hour to Kiryas Joel and immediately proceeded to officiate at kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Yaakov Pinchas Friedman and R' Yisroel Yaakov Silberstein at the Gineth Klein halls. He then officiated at the chuppah of the mechutanim Rabbi Dovid Leib Krois shlit"a and R' Yisroel Fisher at the Beis Rachel Paradise halls.

From there the Rebbe traveled home to his holy residence on Tzanz Street. Upon arrival, many talmidei hayeshiva were waiting and welcomed him with song and music, and the entire congregation came over to greet him.

The Rebbe davened Mincha at around 8:30 and Maariv at the time of Rabbeinu Tam, at around 9:15, in his holy residence on Tzanz Street.

At around 10:40 the Rebbe went over to the tenaim hall in his holy residence on Uhel Street, where the Rebbe read the tenaim of the mechutanim R' Yoel Bar"b Falkowitz and R' Baruch Yuda Koller, and of the mechutanim R' Hillel Rosenberg and R' Yaakov Weisel.

Afterwards, at around 11:00, the Rebbe arrived at the Berach Moshe Sighet beis medrash in the Vayoel Moshe neighborhood for the simchas hatenaim of the granddaughter of his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Montreal shlit"a. The kallah is the daughter of his son HaRav HaGaon R' Yoel Meisels shlit"a, rav of the beis medrash, and the chosson is the son-in-law of the Sulitza Rebbe shlit"a. The mechutan on the other side is HaRav HaGaon R' Aryeh Leibush Horowitz shlit"a, son of the Strizhov Rebbe shlit"a and son-in-law of HaRav HaTzaddik Rabbi Yirmiyahu Teitelbaum shlit"a.
A beautiful conversation took place with the distinguished grandfathers about the kesuba of the grandfather, the Strizhov Rebbe zt"l, and about his wedding, where the holy Divrei Yoel zy"a together with HaGaon HaKadosh the Minchas Elazar zt"l escorted the chosson and kallah.
The Rebbe was honored with reading the tenaim, and then drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessing upon the chosson, upon his brother-in-law the Montreal Rav shlit"a, upon the mechutanim and grandfathers shlit"a, and upon the entire congregation of the beis medrash. They concluded at around 11:30.

Afterwards the Rebbe went over to the neighboring beis medrash, Beis Menachem Zev of our holy kehilla, where the Rebbe looked at the construction work on the new wing and heard a report from his grandson HaRav HaGaon R' Zalman Teitelbaum shlit"a, rav of the beis medrash, about the plans to double the size of the beis medrash. The Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing upon the members of the beis medrash's board.

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Va'eschanan - Nachamu, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a. Resort town of Bethlehem, New Hampshire

On Erev Shabbos in the afternoon hours, the Serdahely Rebbe shlit"a connected by telephone with the Rebbe shlit"a, and the Serdahely Rebbe shlit"a conveyed a greeting from the "Maamad Shechitas HaKeves" that took place on Thursday in the Serdahely camp, where they slaughtered the lamb that the Serdahely Rebbe shlit"a had received from the Rebbe shlit"a at the "Pidyon Peter Chamor" gathering during the past Chol Hamoed Pesach.
The Serdahely Rebbe shlit"a reported to the Rebbe shlit"a that the shechita was carried out with great hiddur and that the lamb, Baruch Hashem, came out kosher. After a longer conversation about the great importance of the mitzvah, the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessing on him.

For Shabbos, a group of outstanding talmidim of the Mesivta, Yoel Moshe branch, were privileged to spend it in the Rebbe's presence (b'tzeil hakodesh).

After the mikvah, the following bochurim presented to the Rebbe shlit"a an answer to the question that the Rebbe had left over in yeshiva:

- The bochur Yoel son of Yechezkel Zev Nissan.
- The bochur Amram son of Aharon Hersh Taub.
- The bochur Yoel son of Mordechai Efraim Fishel Sofer.
- The bochur Meshulam Zusha son of Eli Farkash.
- The bochur Moshe Leib son of Avrohom Yitzchak Shmuel Mertz.

On Erev Shabbos at about 8:35, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash and went to the amud for Mincha as usual.
Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon Rabbi Meir Zwiebel shlit"a - a rebbi in the yeshiva. The davening ended at about 10:05.

After davening, the congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos and shake hands, and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At about 10:30, the Rebbe came to the tish in the hall of the beis medrash together with the talmidim of the yeshiva and many guests from among our chassidim.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a, son of the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Ohel Piga shlit"a. Lifting of the cup: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.
With the zemiros, the Rebbe honored:
- Kol Mekadesh: R' Yisroel Eizikowitz shlit"a (Monsey).
- Menucha V'Simcha: R' Eliezer Chaim Goldstein shlit"a, son of the Skolya Rebbe shlit"a - a rebbi in the yeshiva.
The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Va'eschanan el Hashem ba'eis hahi laimor" and explained it in the manner of a drush on the topic of a mitzvah that comes through a transgression.

- Kah Echsof: R' Yom Tov Jozsef shlit"a (Kiryas Joel).
- Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.
The Rebbe shlit"a related stories and episodes about the holy Baal Ach Pri Tevuah of Liska zy"a, whose yahrzeit fell on Erev Shabbos, 14 Av.
- Kah Ribon Olam: R' Chaim Binyamin Kahana shlit"a of Spinka - a rebbi in the yeshiva.
The new chassanim went over to take fruit. Afterwards, the Simchas HaShalom took place in honor of the Rebbe's newborn grandson, born to Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a.
Bundles and beer were distributed, simcha melodies were sung,
and the Rebbe wished the baal simcha and the entire congregation well.
- Az B'Yom HaShvi'i: R' Yisroel HaKohen Landau (Williamsburg).

The tish ended at about 1:30.

On the day of Shabbos

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe came in to daven at about 9:50.
Berachos: R' Yosef Shlomo Markowitz (Kiryas Joel). Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Yisroel HaKohen Landau.
The Rebbe went to the amud for Shacharis. For Chazaras HaShatz, the Rebbe sent the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.

Before the Torah reading, an appeal was made on behalf of the beis medrash by R' Fishel Farkash.

- Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Eliezer Chaim Goldstein shlit"a.
- Baal Koreh: the bochur Menachem Zev son of Yisroel Shalom Ungar (Kiryas Joel).
- Kohen: R' Levi Yitzchak Borzecki shlit"a - the yeshiva's menahel.
- Levi: R' Yom Tov Jozsef shlit"a.
- Shlishi: the Rebbe's son-in-law, the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.
- Revi'i: R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein (Kiryas Joel).
- Chamishi: R' Berel Herskowitz (Kiryas Joel).
The Rebbe's aliyah was purchased by R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein; the Rebbe thanked him and instructed that a Mi Sheberach be made.

- Shevi'i: R' Dovid Wertheimer (Kiryas Joel).
- Hosafos: R' Yoel Basol (Kiryas Joel), and the Rebbe gave him the naming in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov.
- The Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a.

- R' Yaakov Hillel Lichtenstein shlit"a - a rebbi in the yeshiva.

At the Seudas Atika Kadisha, the Rebbe came over to the beis medrash for the zemiros and divrei Torah at about 2:50. Melodies of nechama were sung, the Rebbe tasted challah and kugel and said "Lechaim,"
and with the zemiros the Rebbe honored:
- Baruch Hashem Yom Yom: R' Shlomo Hersh Eckstein.
- Baruch Kel Elyon: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky shlit"a.
The Rebbe said Torah on the haftarah "Nachamu nachamu ami yomar Elokeichem" and explained that the future redemption will come in the merit of Yitzchak Avinu, and elaborated at length with words of consolation.
They continued singing Achakeh Lo, and the Rebbe stood up and danced for an extended time with great enthusiasm.
- Birkas Hamazon: R' Levi Yitzchak Borzecki shlit"a.
It ended at about 3:50.

Seudah Shlishis

The Rebbe came in for Mincha and Seudah Shlishis at about 8:35.
Baal Tefillah: Rabbi Nachman Kahana shlit"a (Williamsburg).

- Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Shabsi Wertheimer (Montreal).
- Baal Koreh: the bochur Nata son of Yoel Berkowitz (Williamsburg).
- Kohen: R' Yisroel Landau.
- Levi: the bochur Yirmiya Meir son of Zalman Yosef Gold (Kiryas Joel).
- Shlishi: the bochur Shneur Zalman Eckstein, the Shabbos guest.
The Rebbe went to Hagbah; it was purchased by R' Dovid Farkash, and the Rebbe thanked him.
- Gelilah: R' Shimon Heilbrunn (Kiryas Joel).

At Seudas Shlishis, the entire congregation went over to take shirayim from the fish.
- Odeh: R' Zusha Neustadt.
- Shir HaMaalos: R' Lipa Oppenheim (Kiryas Joel).

In the Torah, the Rebbe addressed the haftarah "Nachamu nachamu ami" and explained that Yidden want to hear the consolation from Hakadosh Baruch Hu Himself and not through a messenger. How can one merit this? The Rebbe quoted the Amrei Noam zy"a, who says regarding Rosh Hashana that the blowing of the shofar awakens teshuva, since Hakadosh Baruch Hu Himself blows through the shofar, "Alah Elokim biteruah, Hashem b'kol shofar," and this comes in the merit of the mitzvah of matzah, as matzah sanctifies a person's body so that he can receive the shofar blast from Hakadosh Baruch Hu Himself, and this awakens teshuva.
The Rebbe said that the same thing applies to the consolation: "Nachamu nachamu," together with the eight letters, equals in gematria "lechem oni," and in the merit of the mitzvah of matzah, Klal Yisroel will merit to hear the consolation from Hakadosh Baruch Hu Himself. We hope and pray that we should indeed be comforted after all the troubles that Klal Yisroel has endured, and that we should soon merit the coming of Moshiach, speedily in our days.

R' Yisroel Eizikowitz shlit"a went to the amud for Maariv. After Havdalah, the congregation went over to wish a gutte voch. They accompanied the Rebbe shlit"a with song and music, "Ki Malachav," on his return home the next day, Sunday, to Kiryas Joel, after spending the past four weeks resting in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. It ended at about 11:00.
